First trip to the Racecourse since 2007 where the attendance was 4,305, gonna be much different this weekend but we’ll never forget how small Rectum really are.

We’ve had a poor start to the season but Saturday’s result couldn’t have come at a better time for us, ‘should’ give us some much needed confidence going into this game. We’ll be without our main RB (Luca Hoole) so I imagine Gilliead will slot in there and hopefully Winchester is back from injury to play in midfield.

This isn’t much of a derby according to one of the numerous six fingered vermin that have ventured onto our forum this week (bit strange can’t lie) as they care more about Stockport these days. So no idea why some Rectum fans in this thread are saying they hate us.

We might well lose this but the form book does get chucked out the window come derby day, either way, win lose or draw and we still get to come back to the lovely town of Shrewsbury whilst they’re stuck in a shithole North Wales mining town that has seen better days. No wonder they’re so jealous of Chester and Shrewsbury when you’re sandwiched between those!

Rectum 0-1 Salop (O’Reilly)

How small we are? Small certainly, but generally a little bit bigger than you historically.

Nice to see you lot getting a bit too big for your Welly boots during our stint in non league. Normal service resuming, thankfully.

The most shocking thing about this is the other 50% of the Wrexham Fanatical Support Group chief has not also responded to defend his club whatever the subject, at all cost.

Do you not defend your club? us and Shrewsbury are local rivals you know.

Have some pride in Mansfield.

Yeah and for what it’s worth I think this one is worthy, but you are guilty for doing it when it’s not!

Hmm… I’m not sure about that. Personally I’d disagree mainly because of those 15 consecutive seasons in the Conference will forever be a huge stain on your history. Also your highest ever finish was 15th in Division 2 whilst ours is 8th in Division 2. Banter aside though, I’d say League One is both clubs rightful level though.

I'm sure it's rivalry to some of our older generation but I honestly don't know any Shrewsbury fans. So I find it hard to be too arsed about these "derby" matches when you cant gloat anywhere other than on the internet to some strangers.

Those 19 years (the year we got fucked over from asset strippers) will be a stain on our history, but sadly as a club we were royally fucked from so many tossers. Before all that happened, we have been in league 1 where you haven't. Yes we have got lucky with the lads who has invested in the club and town, and got us back to where we belonged before shit hit the fan.

I don't believe for 1 second people don't class this as a derby. Historically, Wrexham is made up of groups from outside of town. We have a supporters group called Shropshire Reds who would deem this to be our bigger derby than the other end of the A483. I hate these turnip munchers more than Jester Pity.

That's the thing isn't it. We are similar sized clubs at the end of the day which is why the rivalry works- things like our longer history in the league, or you lot taking the piss about our extended stay in non league is.just bragging rights . You're a bit posher than us in your attractive market town as well, which is another reason why it's nice the times we do come out on top (which admittedly hasn't been for a long time).

It will forever be a stain. Consigned to history now hopefully. I hope for your sake something similar doesn't happen to you- make sure your owner sells to the right people.

I do bite all the time to be fair. Still takes a bit of time getting used to being the topic of disdain when we're used to either noone talking about us or just being the butt of jokes about how shit we are.

Poor from them but hardly a surprise given the amount of coverage League 1 and 2 get already.

Poor show not to be getting your 30 seconds of highlights described by an AI bot this week...

True probably all doing international highlights.

Funny thing is teams like you and Wrexham are 2 of the higher profile teams and playing .

What is this tinpottery we've arrived in?

What players do Burton and Crawley have to get it called off for internationals?
It was called off as Burton had international call ups. We had two. Both our keepers were called up. I still don't know if we could have called it off because of that.
We have now signed a Nigerian international from Tanzania (go figure) which will make it 3 players on intl. duty. We're playing with the big boys now!

Exactly why this and a lot of other so called " Derby " matches are not real derbies. It is purely a " localish " rivalry. If you lived in the same town/city you would know what a proper derby is. 24 hour 7 days a week hate. Yes I have some " Shithead " friends -- But when we play them --- That goes out the window and its been like that for the last 50 to 60 years.

Tbh I'm surprised ITV haven't picked up more on Wrexham. I would have expected them to try and milk it a bit but they just treat them like every other club outside the Championship with 10 seconds of highlights, they really don't seem to care.

I'm also glad as even i'm sick of the bullshit anyone comes out with. There is literally no difference in what our owners do compared to the other clubs owned by Americans, just ours are more famous. So what, they don't directly affect a football match, as they don't play in it!

Some of the click bait is outrageous too. So all in all, glad we don't have too much say in league 1, and only Bolton, Brum and Brizzle Rovers games away have been moved this side of Xmas. Lets see what gets moved after Xmas.

Same. I've never been too bothered about the slops more than any other team tbh...don't know any of their fans and it's just a bit too far away to be a 'local' derby (same as the S Wales lot tbh)

Jester Shitty was really ever my one true derby - and that one might never happen again!
I mean even if someone like, say, the young Duke of Westminster, suddenly decided (in a moment of madness), to lump his billions on them, it just wouldn't happen for them. As Mark Lawrenson once famously said "It's just not a footballing city..."
