Imps away at Ipswich. We looked good on Saturday, against a side who passed it gazillions of times between their centre halfs and never pumped it into the box. IIRC that also describes Ipswich, so am cautiously optimistic. They didn't seem to get much of a new manager bounce on Saturday, so here's hoping they don't today either.

I’d rather have a new owner and manager lined up than 3 points.

It’ll be another heap of shit like the first game. Same result would be nice, but I’ve entered the couldn’t give a fuck zone.

Crewe away, they did a number on us at the Moat, very professional, niggly fouls to stop us getting into a rhythm and took their chances. Fully expect more of the same tonight and although we’ve looked far better in our last 2 games it remains to be seen if we can counter these types of tactics. I would take a point if offered as I don’t think we have enough guile to win.
Expecting the lineup to be the same as the weekend:
Jones
Halliday Wright Anderson James
Smith Bostock
Richards Coppinger Sims
Bogle
Bench: Balcombe, John, Robertson, Lokilo, Okenhibirie, Gomes and Greaves.

Charlton away. They’re in pretty poor form and we’re revitalised under Brady, and I hope we continue to try and take the game to teams. Would take a point as I think it’s really important to try and build an unbeaten run and keep accumulating points and I think a defeat may take the wind out of our sails a bit.

Gills at home tonight and looking forward to seeing Kyle Dempsey play ( but not scoring ! ) Confidence will certainly be high and the chance to complete a second double of the season inside 4 days. This is a real mid table match and yet there is always the feeling that a successive run of victories can propel you up the table and towards the play offs , too late for Fleetwood I'm afraid.
I think Fleetwood can just edge out the visitors but it will be close, a lot of people will be having thoughts on the forthcoming weekend match against the outfit in Bloomfield Road

Doncaster at home. Difficult to know what to think - we were well beaten by Lincoln on Saturday but the 3 performances before that were decent. Our home record is good and we got a good (if slightly fortunate) win away at Doncaster. We need to see a reaction tonight because Saturday was not good enough. The 4-4-2 formation has brought us some decent results before Saturday but I'd like to see that experiment end with a return to 4-3-3.

Ipswich vs Lincoln, Hull vs Posh and Portsmouth vs Sunderland so they'll be a few dropped points at the top.

Can't imagine Morton will start again, so Hopper back in. Maybe a change at RB as well with Eyoma in for Poole. Not too many options for change really.

Would take a point and move on I think.

Wigan at home. They have a lot to fight for we, in middle mediocrity, do not. If we play like we did against Rochdale and Northants (I.e. clubs at the bottom) we’ll be in trouble, If we play like we did against Lincoln and Doncaster ( teams at the top) we’ll be fine. Poor it is then.

Lowe’s selections have been a bit less obvious the last couple of weeks so not totally sure who will play. He may drop Jephcott who looks knackered and goalies are saving shots he was scoring from a few weeks back. Ennis is looking a real handful up front. Defence still wobbly to set pieces, though Cooper is developing and learning with experience. Despite being his first season of starting he leads the league in saves.

Latics fans how has Scott Wootton been doing? Quite a few Argo fans would like him to play tonight, as they feel ( unfairly in my view) that he dropped lots of clangers.

Oh I'll always give a fuck Dan, couldn't ever be blasé about a game against your lot.

What's the playing surface like? In recent games where it's been poor we've struggled to assert our game on teams, but where it's been good we've usually dominated.

Pretty poor to be honest. There has been some problem with drainage which hasn't been fixed (due to lack of funds I think) and so all 4 corners have a load of sand on them. Historically our pitch is usually in very good condition, but for the first time in a while its way below the usual standard.

Ball doesn’t touch the pitch much!

Hmmm. Not going to suit our style of play if the pitch is that bad. I presume it suits Sheridan that way?

God knows what suits him. There is no discernible style of play at all. I’m consigned to the fact he’ll be here for the season come what may.

It’s awful stuff. You only have to watch out for young Twine. He has a hell of a strike on him whether from open play or free kicks.

Although he did deliver a couple of corners on Saturday on Saturday about shin high! He does seem to have really mastered direct free kicks, hitting the bar at Sunderland and again at Accrington as well as a volley from 25 yards that flew just wide. He's beginning to really show a bit of class.

If the last game against the chim chimneys is anything to go by we should stick the defence up front and the forwards at the back. Would be nice to do the double over them in what has been a crap season though.

All joking aside, I've noticed Twine popping up with long range efforts in a few of your games, and he looks quite decent. You won't have the advantage of Simon Eastwood in goal for us this time though, as he's been banished since his last minute cock ups against you last time, and hasn't played a single minute of League One football for us since. His replacement, Jack Stevens, is on a different level and has kept something like 11 clean sheets in 18 games now. Eastwood kept zero clean sheets.

I did hear Sheridan's interview with your local media after Saturday's game. Fuck me he is one miserable and belligerent bloke. Can't imagine your players being motivated by him.

Dempsey has been absolute class this season in a pretty mediocre team.
Even allowing for the obvious bias, I haven’t seen a better midfielder in League One.
If we play like we did against Ipswich then we could win but that is not a given with our lot.
Inconsistency has been our one constant this season.

That's not remotely how we play, so you will be pleased to know that won't be happening tonight. I'm not sure our performance at your place warranted that tag. I found it all very strange at the time and it came across as sour grapes. Ask other teams fans about us, and I am sure they would say we are much more naive than we are professional.

We give goals away for fun and we are pretty poor going forward. We do have an excellent home record, however. I think it's about time it came to an end though.

more than a good replacement. A different type of player, certainly more proficient in the scoring dept but I loved Demps effervescence all over the pitch -hope it does'nt come back and bite me !

Not sour grapes at all, I found your performance that day very professional. You identified how we could hurt you and stopped us, of course I’m sure if every time Crewe tried to break a Donny player tugged you back or obstructed you would be as pissed off as I was however we didn’t deal with that. I hope that was a one off and you give us the room but if you get in our faces and stop us breaking you will win again.

My recollection of that game is we took 2 of our 3 chances (believe me, that conversion rate is an absolute miracle) and you missed 2 or 3 very good chances (including a point blank header that hit our keeper in the face). You lost the game because you were wasteful, and for one of the only times this season, we were decent in front of goal.

Well it looks like we have gone back to 433 with a striker that hasn’t scored in over 800 minutes. Put it another way, he hasn’t scored this year. In fact, the last goal he scored was an offside handball on Boxing Day. As you can tell, I don’t hold out much hope for us showing up your lack of a striker.

Having said that, if Kirk, Dale and Lowery turn up, then you will be in for a tough night.

Heavy defeat, and out of the play-offs I fear. If / when Sunderland score early we'll fold like an old deck chair.

Maybe the presence of the Sky cameras will guilt the players into trying? We'll see.....
