Personally I don't care how or why he does it if he brings success. If others don't like it then fair enough.

Good luck with Evans. You are now the subject of much odium from football punters around the leagues.

He has a reputation for hoofball but that's not really true. He does like his teams to get the ball forward quickly but he does like to see some football when it's in the opposition half.

Better than most people think but not as good as he thinks he is...same for all of us really.

One downside. Paul Raynor's interviews. You will, er have to, er, get,er used, er to the way,er he conducts, them.

Mansfield and Evans, match made in heaven.

Enjoy the ride for a few years while it lasts

Grimsby tried it for years, and kept fucking it up, or being outdone.

That said, they served their time

Stag fans; lots of us used to chant 'who ate all the pies?you fat bastard' at Evans when he was our manager. We did it again when Rov'rum came to town.

We are one of the very few sides where it will be done in an affectionate manner. He is not universally loved at Crawley but he is not hated. When it is heard on Saturday please remember this.

Was quite surprised to see Evans take the job at Mansfield to be honest, I thought he'd get a top end League One job but maybe the fact he's an odious fat turd went against him. It's not a bad job to take to be fair, decent squad at Mansfield and he won't be working with peanuts at that level I wouldn't have thought. I reckon he'll have them challenging within the next 18 months but can't see this being a long term fit.

Probably goes back to the days of the Conf and our rivalry for the title, but always had a bit of an edge towards Mansfield. Tempered a bit when Murray went back there from us and became boss. Fully expect it to return to edginess. Cant stand Evans.

Yeah, there always has been a bit of a bizarre half-rivalry with Luton.

Guess chuck the fa trophy semi in there as well, and the 3-2 win in the last minute at the kennel. Before that when big Joe Kinnear smashed up the away end in 2002 or so when we won 4-1

Like you and the onset of administration.
we've got bigger problems than admin mate! I'm sure even Mansfield wouldn't want to see a football club go under

Of course not, no responsible fan would wish that on another set of fans, arch-rivals or not.

These funding issues always seem to be resolve one way or another, the picture doesn't look too rosy for you guys though

I'd be happy for you guys to knock around in the conference for a few years, however

i bet

Problem is Mr Allen owns the ground and the banquetting side, so we could easily end up with a Haslam situation like you had. I've heard we dont have enough money to see out the month now that he's pulled all his cash and done a runner.. worrying times

What would football be without its rivalries?
Of course, most Stags fans wouldn't want to lose our bitterest old enemy. We want you to stick around to beat you; perhaps see you flounder in the Conference for a few horrible years, but what would be the point in having you go belly up?... Notts becoming our new fiercest rival just doesn't sound or feel right.

Though I fear for you spireites regarding your new back yard. Allen seems just the sort of character to take great delight in stripping you of your assets and clumping you with a hefty rent, after years of trying to get your new ground. Indeed it's Haslam all over again. That cretin left us with nothing but our name and it was nowt but good fortune that we managed to get blessed with an owner who genuinely has the best interests of our club at heart and has slowly rescued a sinking ship from becoming floating flotsam and jetsam. Mansfield Town has spent 25 years being dragged through the mire and we're still recovering now from those gruelling Haslam years, however, Radford is getting there and finally restoring parity. Although, of course, Field Mill (which is an odd mix of freshness and decay) still doesn't belong to MTFC, it will belong to John Radford. The difference is that being amber and blue through and through, I expect that the ground will eventually (crossed fingers) go back to the club, whereas Allen doesn't seemingly give a stuff about Cfc.

If it takes you 25 years to get over your impending Allen years, similarly to us, it's a hurtful, bitter and ugly chunk of years to have to endure. I wouldn't want to wish it on anyone: only 2 promotions in all that time, the thin sitting unhappily alongside the thinner and seeing off generations of potential supporters that either gave up hope, or were never coaxed in by years of treading water, that only an upturn in success will now change.

Good luck to the Spireites, you bring out the worst in me but I truly hope that you survive this shitstorm, after feeling a similar hardship, which makes you appreciate the good times like godly interventions, though I also hope that its our turn for a quarter of a century in the higher chair, which you've enjoyed and eventually dismissed us as a bit-part neighbour. Blimey we need it after such an energy sapping , lip-blistering drought.

Well Mansfield went in one fell swoop from distinctly average to Luton levels of dislikable. That's impressive
Haha I remember Urban. The guy who constantly slated Mad dog Allen during their conference winning season, unforgettably miserable poster.

Has Evan mentioned his 'good friend' Paul Ince, yet? Or his 'Scottish pal' Sir Alex? Loves a name drop that bloke.
