A big weekend for both sides has to put behind them as the two Counties clash at Meadow Lane. To be fair Newport might not find much difference between facing Man City and a rejuvenated Notts such is the improvement in our performances.

Normally we can always be relied to let you down when you’ve suddenly got a bit of hope, but I’m hopeful that this side has now got a bit more about them. Ardley has said we’ve got a few niggles, so there might be a couple of changes from Saturday. It’ll be a tough game with Newport still maybe fancying their chances of getting in the playoffs.

Don’t care how, just win!

No idea who the niggles affect, one could be Stead I guess?

Notts tomorrow and MK on Saturday are two tough away fixtures. Will be surprised if we pick up a point in either.
Would anticipate a cup hangover this week playerwise and its likely that some of the regulars will be rested in favour of our new signings and fringe squad players.
I think most of us realise that the play-offs are long gone, just hope we give it a good go for the final two months of the season when we revert back to one game per week and the old batteries can be recharged a little.
The cup run has been fantastic for us supporters and the bank balance. Man City were quality on and off the park. David Silva in particular seemed to be playing a different game to anyone else such was his control and distribution of the ball.

We need the win. It's going to be tough, Newport always seem to give it a good go against us and we put in a massive shift in Saturday. Very worried there'll be some old and tired legs out there for us tomorrow.

I know you signed Kennedy Rog, who else?

These are the games where Notts will really see the value of having Doyle/O'Brien/CMS.

Agree you want to follow the last three excellent results with another win here to take advantage of the good form and home advantage . However , in my opinion, Saturday’s victory means a slip up tonight would be disappointing but not disastrous and a draw would be a good result that keeps the little unbeaten run going and keeps the all important positivity in the dressing room .

Both sides should have tired legs so no excuse there . The few times I’ve seen Newport I’ve been impressed especially their attacking play .

I think this will end 2-1 or 1-2

How's Mitch Rose doing Notts fans?

I know results have picked up since he joined but has he been playing well?

He’s been excellent. Been playing right-back. Looks really solid and gets forward quite well - provided one excellent cross onto the head of Hemmings on Saturday six yards out that Hemmings inexplicably failed to connect with. But looking a really good signing so far.

How about Kristian Dennis?

Only been a sub for the games he's been here but did score a great lob at Yeovil for our 3rd. Missed a chance on Saturday that he should really have scored but from the limited time I've seen him he looks like he could do well here.

Edit..Just seen that he's playing for our reserves currently and has scored both goals (1 a penalty) as we're beating Wigan 2-1 at the minute.

Double Edit..Game ended 3 all. Dennis got a hat-trick.

Looks a great signing for us, why did you let him go? He's got bags of energy, marks his man, gets forwards, everything you could want in a right back. And he can play in midfield.

There will be a reason , I don’t know what it is but there will be , there always is .

I was surprised we allowed him to leave to be honest. Good man to have by your side in a fight. His bite in midfield and penalties certainly helped to keep us up last season. However our young, attacking midfield has produced some swift, smart moves and he didn't fit our requirements anymore. He's been on the bench or not involved at all since early December. Hope he does well for you, he did his best for us.

Was down the pecking order in our midfield. Obviously Jolley couldn't guarantee him game time which he's now got with you.

Probably playing RB means there’s less chance of him giving the ball away, which was one of his biggest weaknesses. He just wasn’t reliable enough to have in the team each week.

One change for us tonight, Franks in for Bakinson. Poole into midfield I would think.

Interesting , CMS and Stead rested for Alessandra and Hemmings . Makes perfect sense but no doubt if we lose , the fools on NCM will moan about it .

I back the move after so little rest between games happy with those two coming in .

Bit of a start 3 goals inside 15. Defence looking a bit dodgy again

Newport have offered more in a half than Lincoln, FGR and Mansfield put together. Suspect they’re in a bit of a false low position due to the cup. Honed right in on our weakness with set pieces and crosses and exploited it ruthlessly.

That said, we look a threat at the other end and it’ll be interesting if we get the next goal.

I did lump on Newport, just had a feeling County would struggle after a big cup final performance against Mansfield.

Probably abit rusty after they had an afternoon off against our shower!

I think our fans group could have done more than our team, especially with Spanish stag on the attack :animatedf:

Haha ok maybe not ! We only changed the front 3 !!!!

Get a hammering tonight but I’m taking 7 points from 12, that’s more than a little positive recently but now puts big pressure on the next game .

Missed opportunity but Newport clearly are good , and 4 good opponents on paper is 1 too many

I’m guessing we aren’t talking pence here ? You’ve brought out the big pound coins ? Maybe a note !

Thanks for letting us all know at 4-1
