At work today but contrasting reports from Crawley. One friend said we were dreadful and got lucky to win it another said we dominated and we're good value for the 3-2 win and it could have been more.

Either way, its always a good win when you come from behind.

We tried to play a bit of football and mixed it up with some direct balls to Hanson, few good crosses which got us our two goals.

However Crawley were just better than us all over, especially second half, constantly closing us down and forcing us into giving the ball away.

Thought we slightly deserved the lead at HT based on chances but Crawley deserved the win based on second half workrate alone.

We played pretty well and deserved the 3-0 victory (third win at home this season) Bradford were absolutely dreadful and didn’t threat all game.

Bradford offered little but I thought we were fantastic. We wanted it more than Bradford and we seemed noticeably fitter and more intense than a month ago. Only one win though.

A perfectly decent result against a side who will be there or thereabouts and are hard to beat. Not looking forward to our game with them.

This is not meant as a wind up, is it possible that the team have in the back of their minds that you have not conceded this decade, and this could sub-consciously make you a little defensive?
No I dont think we care about that. We had chances to win, I just think we were well matched.
This result will only look good if we dont lose at Vale though.

Important win for us, given the next 4 fixtures (probable defeats) we have coming up.

but my god what a poor match. Really hard to watch.

First home win in 3 months, it was a deserved win. Newports preperations hit with 2 pull outs before the game, I always like to remind Joss Labadie that he bites his opponents........then I realised that he wasn't even on the pitch after it was announced that he was.

Tom King kept Newport in the game first half, second half we took our chances and had a little bit of luck for the first goal it seems.

Newport a very difficult side to break down, but rarely threatened in open play - they did have a big call for a penalty though in the second half.

Ouss Cisse has been really good for us so far, we badly needed someone like him in our midfield for a while.

If we had our present manager at the start of the season we would be ten points clear at the top of the table now.

Cant complain about a draw. Can see Colchester getting closer to the autos.

It's there for the taking this year, for sure, but we're not clinical enough going forward. We won 3-0 away at Swindon, have more than matched Exeter home and away, missed a stoppage time penalty to win at Crewe etc - more than capable of being up there but then dropping points against the likes of Morecambe and Stevenage is proving our undoing.

Six draws from the last seven games now. Only beating Swindon on Tuesday night will make today a good result.

Similar 1st half to the one at Macc on Tuesday and Scunthorpe were a tad unlucky to not be more than 1 up at half time. 2nd half, was more like the real us though, just as I thought we looked tired we went up another gear, we could have won it in the end as we probably edged the 2nd half. It was a great watch 2nd half, played at a very high pace, neither defence looked convincing, probably why it was so enjoyable. All in all I take that as a point gained, have to beat Orient on Tuesday now though, if we want to challenge for the autos.

I have actually ignored the content of someone in this thread. I have no idea how I did this, so would appreciate it if someone could tell me how to unignore them?

Cheers.

There's an ignore option if you click on someone's username so, presumably, the option to reverse that would be there as well.

May not have been a fully deserved win (only 2 shots on target) but a goal worthy of winning any game:

Cracker

One way to avoid having to use our dodgy pitch...

Newport were probably the most vulgar side I’ve seen in years. Time wasting from the first minute, chucking themselves all over the shop and every - and I mean EVERY - time they got the ball it was humped forward to Matt (or sliced comically off the pitch). They played for throw-ins like a pub side. Dreadful stuff.

We can’t finish a hot dinner, but we played some seriously good stuff at times. Ouss Cissé has improved us immensely; he can be a little ponderous, but he takes care of the ball and wins almost all of his duels on the ground and in the air.

The win was a relief more than anything, but there’s plenty of hard yards still to do. We still need at least 3 more players to become regularly competitive.

Horrific performance from us. Bowyer has lost the dressing room. Get him out.

Have to agree with you. Col U looked a really decent team with plenty of pace and attacking threat, but blatantly lack a quality striker. To be honest, this is the first year I’m a long time where there’s been very few excellent strikers in L2, so it’s no surprise really.

As others have said it was a tight game and we both cancelled each other out at times. Felt we had some good chances but we were sloppy on the ball. Colchester looked good and put us under pressure. I can see them being there or thereabouts.

Overall a frustrating game, but probably will be a good point come the end of the season

What a cracker that was by Gnahoua. Fair play to Macc, hung in there and took their chances well. We looked like a team of strangers second half, couldn't keep the ball which is no surprise given all the new loans.

Logan doesn't play our way yet, lots of massive hoofs to our short striker. We're dropping away atm. Need a win Tuesday, but Carlisle will be tough and seem to have our number.

I thought Maynard and Rose in particular gave everything in the tank, I’ve heard some unfair criticism of Maynard but to me he gives 100%.

Good result for us - I was worried about yesterday. With 2 home games this week and 1st vs 2nd at the weekend hopefully we can continue the run and really push on.

Logan never played our way last season, which was similar to FGR now - he’s not changing.
