MVP wrapped up this year already Carel clearly.

Dan Bailey, I salute you sir. Keep them points coming for my fantasy team.

Detroit doing well against Indy. Colts look as over-rated as I thought they were.

Chiefs take the W in overtime and I somehow win my fantasy match-up by 0.56 points. Great opening week so far.

phew.... that game should never have been that close. I'll start with the positives, the biggest one - Taylor Decker, lights out debut, made holes all over the place, protected Stafford very well, if he continues in this vein the worst running attack in the NFL will be nowhere near the bottom this season.
The whole O was great, Riddick is just unplayable in the open field, Jones is a fantastic downfield threat, Boldin just beggars belief at his route running, safe hands etc.. all aged 109. Stafford looked safe, assured. There were only 2 occasions where he seemed to think Megatron was still on the field - he tossed one really high down a sideline to Jones and seemed to expect him to come up with the ball. He also put a ball right to Jones double covered with a 3rd coming in, unsurprisingly nearly picked.

The negative, the D 2nd half. Now the Colts were bad, bar Luck's arm, really bad. Their O-line is terrible and the first half was men vs boys, Lions just swarmed them. 2nd half they adjusted, basically didn't bother to run, just Luck, couple quick steps and release. The Lions didn't seem to know what to do with this, surely they saw this coming, less pressure on the line let the elite QB do his thing. They didn't, Luck had a field day wherever Darius Slay wasn't, 20-30 yard passes and now it's a shootout.
Thank god the Lions win shootouts, Stafford in a 30 second drill, I actually think there is not a better QB in the NFL at just automatic middle/deep throws, Prater makes up for his missed XP and then a fantastic Colts lateral attempt at the end winds up with a safety.

Pretty damn good game, got to hope the D learns from this because if the O plays at that level again there are not many teams going to stop the Lions getting points on the board.

Chuffed with that win. Stuffed the run (opposition permitting, the defensive line and the ILBs was our biggest defensive question mark), prevented Hurns and Robinson burning us, and some of the old Rogers magic - that TD pass, and the catch by Adams - were both excellent and helped us over the line.

Offense isn't all gravy yet though, and the adjustment of Taylor in for Sitton will take time, but for week 1 can't be unhappy at all.

---

On the fantasy side of things, still hawking out Prescott, Sanders, plus Michael Thomas and potentially Ameer Abdullah :)

Russell Wilson possibly injured for week 2. Probably the only time Suh has injured a player... accidentally...

Absolutely delighted with that win by the Pats last night. Needed some luck with the missed FG but considering we were a 9.5 point underdog at the start of the game and our two best players missing that is fantastic to go there and beat a Super Bowl contender. Very pleased with Jimmy G as well, if he can put together some more performances on film like that in the next three games he will definitely be improving his trade value.

Can't grumble with that start from the Texans.

Took a little while for them to get going and for the D to show up, they completely dominated the second half and Chicago didn't have a sniff. Bears first TD was almost all Houston's own doing with the interception and the penalties which sped up the drive which was frustrating along with Fuller's drop which certainly would have resulted in 6 points. Not much else to complain about really.

After his drop - Fuller was excellent and made several big plays including his TD. Brock was solid and is clearly a huge improvement on anyone we had at QB last season, Hopkins was Hopkins, Tyler Ervin on special teams really impressed me and Lamar Miller is going to make some yardage this year and the D looked great when they showed up and threw poor old Cutler all around NRG!

Not perfect but pleasing start.

Good weekend for the Cougars too!

How much of a blow is losing Cushing?

Very impressive win for the Pats given how understrength they were. Doesn't look like there were any surprises amongst the first week of games. Maybe the Giants beating the Cowboys? Looking forward to the 2 games tonight.

Time will tell I guess.

He was injured pretty early on and the D got better as the game went on. Max Bullough stepped straight in and did a good job so hopefully it's not going to be too big a blow.

Lots of great games around the league in round one but the redzone inefficiency was a bit of a let down for dem Cowboys, if only someone had a pair of what Del Rio was showing against the Saints then it'd of been a cake walk, we can improve from here though which is a good thing.

Feel bad for him, just seems he can never seem to get any luck at all. Real shame as he is an incredibly gifted receiver.

The Rams!! St Louis dodged a bullet frankly, let's hope Mr 8-8 is finally, permanently, unemployed as a HC by the end of the season.

RG3 done in Cleveland till at least week 8, gone to IR. Josh McCown or Jody Kessler, good luck Browns. Poor RG3 though, Browns likely to be picking #1 and there will be Deshaun Watson, he'll easily be the best QB to play for them in over 20 years and they'll finally have someone to build around.

Steelers baby.

And the Rams were comically bad, should have pulled Keenam early IMO. LOL at Donald.

First fantasy "thanks" of the season go to the Los Angeles Rams, I lost by 7 points with Gurley and the defence getting a combined 5.20.

(I'll ignore the fact I could have played either of my benched QBs instead of Tyrod and won...)

Solid effort from my fantasy lads in my warm up match against Epic's team of QBs, sadly though it looks like Gary Barnidge has disappeared off the face of the earth which we'll have to overcome.

Cracking win for the Vikings, Shaun Hill did everything asked of him, defense was lights out, Diggs showing no sophmore slump, only negative was Mr. Peterson but I'll let him off if he gets a 100 yard game against the Packers next week.

Did anyone stop up for this?

Watched some of the 4th with a nice Yirgacheffe Kochere. Saw 2 TDs!

Good weekend of football to open with I thought. Watched the CAR v DEN and NE v ARI games. Both were great. Don't remember seeing so many close (1 or 2 point) results in a single week before either.

Looking forward to Friday morning now. Need the win though.

I wasn't to confident of winning my match up before last night's games so I nearly went full potato and tanked to get that no.1 WW pick, pretty glad I didn't as my Steelers pair managed to send me top of the league which is a pretty good start.

My boys getting the party started tonight, come on you Steelers. Big things this season IMHO.

I hope so. Still some question marks over the Nose Tackle position and how Javon Hargrave and/or Dan McCullers will cope on running downs this season. Saying that, it's not bad knowing you've got an inside linebacker in Ryan Shazier to back yo up. Shazier in my opinion will be talked up to be as good as Luke Kuechly by the end of the season - the man is legit!

Bring on the Bengals.
