I'd be amazed if they didn't get rid of Harvin tbh - contract reasons more than anything. I don't think Mariota lasts till 6, nor should Winston but red flags and that - WInston in NY would be FUN and probably not in a good way.

We signed Maualuga to a 3 year deal. Stupid is as stupid does. So many dudes we should be going after, namely Brandon Graham or Trent Cole...but noooooope *checks Mike Brown's age and Marvin Lewis' contract again* - Mikey's 79, gotta retire soon. Marv has 1 year left...we're so close to being free.

Just started to watch Draft Day. I can just about believe that Kevin Costner is the GM for the Browns, but can not believe that Kevin Costner is shagging Jennifer Garner.

Perfectly believable when you see some of the old, chubby college coaches' wives.

Cobb staying in Green Bay :)

Could have got more money on open market for sure, so happy he's sticking around with Rodgers throwing to him. With Nelson and Adams improving, that's a crackin' WR core.

Reports of $114m, $60m guaranteed for Suh from Dolphins.

Goodell should make all his disciplinary fines earnings linked. They could pay off the national debt after a couple of seasons.

I thought he was signing for the Giants :(
as soon as JPP was tagged that was the Giants out of the running for Suh. Lions have apparently offered him $110M with $58M guarenteed, so guess its up to him. Hope he makes his mind up quick because with him off the cap the Lions can start having a go for the likes of Revis.

Edit - looks like he is off to Florida. How big a loss he is to the Lions will depend on who they can get in FA. Not going to get a DT to replace him, although should re-sign Fairley and Mosely now, but this team could be improved massivlely in strength in depth. Lions just jumped up there with Jets and Raiders as a team with plenty of cap space.
Hindsight will be a wonderful thing with this, could actually be a blessing for the Lions or their going to start crying over what they've lost and regress, again.

Great player, him and Wake on that D-Line should give teams fits. That said Miami have now invested a lot of money in an area that wasn't a pressing need for them. Their O-Line is still a complete mess. Thought in the tampering period teams couldn't actually offer deals officially though.

Pats have nailed down D-Mac now, great news. 5 year deal for $47.5m with $28.5m, may seem a lot but given other teams were offering him more can't complain that we got him to stay for that amount. He is absolutely crucial to the success of our secondary. Now for Revis hopefully.

I find it very interesting that with the onset of free agency, a lot of these 'big ticket' players are getting tied down and with the space that the Jags, Raiders etc have to use, it's going to be hard to see where they can even overspend to reach that level.

Aye that will be interesting, 89% over four years I think they have to spend. If you're Julius Thomas for example you've got to think you're about to get paid big-time. Probably even see the contracts getting front-loaded to get into that realm.

Suppose at least having that cap room is preferable to what Miami have just done though by using up all their cap space by giving franchise QB money to Suh when they have a number of other holes they can't possibly fill now.

Yeah, that's a shock. Smith going as well. With Gore out the door and possibly Crabtree as well, that 9ers group will be unrecognizable.

Can only imagine Willis can't get over injure issues?

About 2 years ago I remember thinking the Niners were probably set to dominate the NFL for years to come. That's changed quickly enough. Get the feeling their new coaching set-up have been dealt the kind of shit sandwich Rex was given by the Jets in his last couple of years.

Can't go wrong with NFL.com really, it has everything too.

Yeah, I can't abide the site design and auto-playing videos, but for content it's got a lot of stuff. Only thing it lacks is all the 'reporters' are just news stories and rumour mills, rather than full and insightful articles.

grantland.com is an excellent (ESPN funded) resource for most American sports. It's founder, Bill Simmons, is primarily NBA-oriented, but even their footy articles are usually worth reading.

Come for the VINCE VAUGHN VS JON FAVREAU POWER POLL, stay for Bill Barnwell's ill-earned condescension. Always a pleasure.

Julius Thomas set to become a Jaguar when Free Agency opens. Rumoured to be 5/$45m. Dude just got paid. He's got good numbers but you've got to wonder how much of that is a product of Peyton Manning? Also pretty questionable when it comes to blocking (which is really what separates Gronk from everyone else at this position). Credit to him for taking advantage of it though.

Jay Glazer reporting the Saints are trading Jimmy Graham to Seattle alongside a fourth rounder for Max Unger and their first. Wow just wow. Did not see that one coming. That is a huge addition to Seattles offense.

Looks like we will definitely be losing Vereen to the Giants. Sad to see him go but great for him to get his money, well deserved. Meanwhile it's a waiting game over Revis, we may also be losing Browner. One of the top two secondaries in the NFL could conceivably be hell of a lot worse very shortly.

Giants seem to be signing Shane Vereen, who is good on Madden, and apparently, is good in real life.

The Giants passing game will get a huge boost. Vereen, Cruz and OBJ are going to cause some DC's nightmares. He isn't much cop though when it comes to running between the tackles, on more than one occasion he has been very hesitant when approaching the line of scrimmage. Will be missed.

Trade madness!

Ngata to Ravens and Bradford to Philly for Foles and picks per the Twittertrons. Hold me.

> Ngata to Lions, like. This is why I'm not Adam Schefter, innit.

What in the Lord's name.

1) Don't 'get' the Graham trade for either side. Seattle pay big salary for a weapon when that Russ deal is coming next year and they'll be tight cap-wise when they could have traded up for a weapon in the draft
2) Ngata is still good, interested to see the price for that - he's still got juice in the tank and slipped under the radar a bit last couple of years
3) Foles and Bradford - don't like it for either side. I'd say Bradford is slightly better than Foles but neither seem like the 'answer' for Rams/Eagles.
