Jay Cutlers performance today was a thing of real beauty. Against such an abysmal Defence smoking Jay came to the fore.

As a spectacle that game was awful though, as JJ rightly says too many flags thrown.

Steelers rather predictably are going to throw this away.

Pats Defence is once again proving to be a complete abortion. Ridiculous how many 20+ yard plays they give up. This almost never happens under BB.

Thankfully I got back home from Wembley just before half-time in Houston.

Safe to say that the Texans were far better than either Miami or New Orleans!

Deserved win for the Panthers against us. Once again Tom Brady proves his genius keeping it close but you can only do so much when the D resembles nothing more than a bunch of matadors. Still early in the season but worrying signs. Lost count of the amount of times Funchess had the freedom of Foxborough to do what he wanted.

As much I want to see the whole LA thing blow up in Spanos face as lets face it he deserves it I really can't help but feel bad for Phil that he is going to have to shoulder this burden. He really deserves better than this.

Would love to see him and Gates traded to a contender so they have one last shot at getting a ring.

Got to hand it to the Jags D. This finally looks legit. Against the pass particularly they are deadly. Thought the game with the Texans was due to playing substandard QB but can’t really say that today.

Fuck this team. Shambles, can’t wait to hear Tomlin recycle the same nonsensical cliches about how we need to get back to playing ‘Steeler football’.

Aaron Rodgers broken collarbone and potentially done for the year. This year has been horrendous for injuries and we've still got Gronk to break down yet.

Pats have looked like shite in large parts against the Jets but fortunately they have not been quite good enough to take advantage (yet). Some of our defence on third and long has been abysmal.

I think that has blown Nfc North wide open with Green Bay optimistically without Rodgers until the back end of the season it's going to be hard for them to recover I think it really depends how fast Hundley can hit the ground running.

We've had a torrid time with injuries all year and obviously this makes it exponentially worse.

Really needs the Defence to up it's game though that seems ever unlikely. Perhaps it's more likely a case of hoping Jones and Ty can do enough on the ground to give enough time to Hundley, as our receiving core is still very good. Then again, our o-line is pretty much demolished too.

Luckily we've got 4 wins, so hopefully there's enoughh there to hold the fort til Rodgers comes back. Last time with the Wallace/Tolzien/Flynn sequence, I think we went something like 2-3-1 and we squeaked through. Hundley's better than Flynn, but back then we had peak Lacy to lean on. It can be done but it could also slip away within a few weeks.

Longer term, this is Rodgers second collarbone injury, and he's what, 34 now.

Rodgers  :bye:

In fairness I thought Hundley looked serviceable yesterday considering he was being thrown straight in the deep end (I'd take him over either of the Browns QBs although that is not a ringing endorsement), but obviously it doesn't compare to Rodgers and as mentioned blows the division wide open for the Vikes and the Lions when Green Bay probably would've racked up 11/12 wins otherwise. Obviously still got plenty of receiving weapons but will need to get the run game going, and try to keep some offensive linemen healthy.....

Vikings defense did it's job yesterday, good pressure and key turnovers, which was the minimum I'd have hoped for after Rodgers went down. Still made slightly harder work of it than perhaps we should have, but Keenum is reliable enough to keep things ticking over, McKinnon seems to have found a new lease of life and it was very encouraging to see Treadwell step up for the first time in his career which helped us cover off the loss of Diggs. Some good news from Bridgewater's doctor today though will give us an interesting decision to make a few weeks down the line.

Terrible news. Wasn't aware if he was ill, but he was a staple of me and countless others getting into NFL. Sad stuff.

I know its just a smiley, but applying tribal glee in seeing the very best players in the league getting badly injured just because they play for a rival, seems weird to me.

Was playing at such a high level, such a shame to see him go down. Didn't have much of an issue with the hit, wasn't the clear two steps etc, but thankfully as we've got 4 wins we should be able to cling on for bit. An ever more beat up defence and o-line too. Question for Rodgers is does he have the surgery or not...

Sad to hear about Cadle, the Sky Sports NFL coverage hasn't been the same without him. "We have a ball game."

:err:

Nice look.

Devastating injury for the Packers and the NFL season in general, which has possibly lost 5 of its 10-15 best players already this season in Luck, Rodgers, Beckham, Watt and David Johnson. Rodgers was walking towards another league MVP. Hopefully he can return week 15-16 with the Packers still in contention, but it doesn't look likely since it's his throwing shoulder. The Packers can stay competitive, neither the Vikings or the Lions are anything to write home about, but obviously they have no chance in the post-season without him. 9-7 could win that division.

You lived your life like a Cadle in the wind.

Cadle/Halling were a big part of me getting into the sport - I liked watching them, maybe I'd feel differently now I'm more knowledgeable (I am, shut up) but they had more rapport than the tiresome dweeb Reynolds trying to fit in with blokes who clearly also think he is a tiresome dweeb. Good character. RIP Ma Man.

Very saddened to see this news about Kev. As others have said above has been a huge part of watching Football on Sunday nights for many years.

Andy MVP Dalton dealing on the road at Heinz Field behind a terrible o-line. Always knew he'd come good.
