Would have won this game with Dalton (and Eifert obvs) - no way he misses the 3/4 deep balls that McCarron has to wide open receivers. I am content although annoyed at the defensive capitulation second half.

The worry is we'll have to try and win the opening playoff game with McCarron - the only team I see us beating under those circumstances is maybe the Jets.

Yup, McCarron is awful. What a dreadful second half from him.

I think he's been pretty impressive considering he's only started two games and he's playing the league's best defence. He sailed a few deep ones but a couple didn't miss by much and the altitude is difficult to judge in Denver.

I think you can take care of the Jets or the Chiefs. The Chiefs are on a huge win streak, but their schedule has been a cakewalk. I would be more scared of the Jets and especially the Steelers.

Hope you can bring this to OT, I want the Steelers and Jets in the playoffs.

Game over. McManus can kick this from 60 with ease. Lame.

Yay. Bonus football. Not got much to lose here considering the game is over, maybe McCarron might hit a deep ball.

Awful from McCarron. If he checks it down to Hill its a massive gain. Fucking shite prick.

We're fucked if Dalton isn't back for the wildcard round

Congradgulations and well done Romosexual Tendencies.

I note also the bitter irony of two teams with names inspired by Tony Romo contesting the championship.

The Chip Kelly era is officially over.

Might have been coming for a while but I still think they cut the cord too early, especially given the last two 10 win seasons and the comparatively seismic squad changes last season. However on the flip side, I guess if the squad no longer believes in the coach/system, it probably then underplays even if the system does suddenly all click.

What I would say though is it still comes back to the QB. A good QB fixes many faults and Bradford, Foles and Sanchez haven't been the answer there or in any system.

A difficult move to make for Philadelphia because so much of the organisation rested on the shoulders of Kelly, but he had to go. He gutted the roster of its most talented players, alienated several players and the media, signed free agent busts and drafted players for his scheme that didn't work out.

Despite the winning seasons, he's probably set the franchise back a few years as the next coach inherits a roster designed for Kelly's system, without a quarterback and with less talent than when Kelly arrived. Wonder if he'll go back to college or another team gives him a chance. He's clearly an incredibly talented offensive mind, he might be fine as long as he never gets to make personnel decisions again.

Reunite with Mariota?

I don't think the roster is that bad really, there's a good strong nucleus of young players there and I wouldn't be surprised to see most of the players with arrows up developing well in a more traditional system. While there's all this concentration on McCoy, Jackson and Maclin, they didn't miss Jackson in 2014 nor a limited McCoy in that season either. Both got a season to buy in, neither seemingly did, so really if Kelly had kept them around they could easily have been locker room distractions - McCoy's comments after leaving make himself out to be a eejit. Both were heading into the final years of contracts too iirc, and neither were chased by the top teams around. Not that they're not good players, but evidently can be seen as distraction-risks.

I reckon only Maclin is the one they probably should have done more (we assume they didn't) to resign.

The roster is good, it was just better when Kelly arrived. Andy Reid always has talented teams and he left Kelly in a wonderful scenario. I disagree with the Jackson comment, the offence was good last year with just Maclin but it really lacked the explosion it had in Kelly's first year with Jackson as the Z receiver. Maclin is quite explosive, but Jackson is the most explosive receiver in the NFL, it was a big drop off in terms of how it opened up the rest of the offence. McCoy may be an idiot but he's a far more versatile runner than Murray and he fit the Eagles pretty well, they should have kept him. The offensive line which was probably the best in the league in Kelly's first year is now a liability and that's on Kelly too. It's difficult to find marquee skill position players, they used to have three, they arguably have none now.

Their defence is probably slightly more talented now than it was, just a shame they are on the field for 40 minutes every game because they don't care about ball control.

Looks like Rexy is back for another year in Buffalo. Think this will be the last chance for him, with the talent that team have they should have done a lot better than they ultimately did. He certainly doesn't have the (valid) excuse towards the end of his reign in New Jersey. Failure to make the playoffs should not be an option for him next year.

Strangest thing is Defence is His forte and they've been hopeless at times on that side of the ball.

Proper college football bowls have arrived.

How do we know? There is an actor from The Wire doing a bad, cod-poetic voiceover on that there ESPN.
