Bit of a missed opportunity wasn't it?

Given that they managed to get one of the best TV football pundits around right now on their naff little reactionary YouTube circus act, you would think they'd have thought of some interesting arguments about football. The whole thing was just "I've got an opinion and you can disagree but I can still have my opinion" for the 15 minutes I could stomach.

If Wenger does'nt get a new contract, Who does the Arsenal fans in here like to see replacing him? Are they going to settle for someone who would manage them only for a couple of years, or they willing to see a manager who would stay for a longer period like Wenger did.

Simeone is the name is see used most.

Not an Arsenal fan but Simone would be a good choice or Juventus current manager who's name escapes me. Think Unai Emery would have been a good appointment too from Sevilla however he's now gone to PSG

It's been what, well over 20 years? He came in as a visionary and was to Arsenal probably the one most influential person in their entire history. To english football, much of the modernization which took place in the late 1990's and early 00's was down to him. He somehow won the league without losing a single match. He should step down while that's still what will be said about him.

Against Bayern at 1-1, from the beginning of the second half onwards, Kieran Gibbs was the captain of the Arsenal team. Away at Bayern he was the captain, wearing the armband previously worn by Vieira and Adams. He's a decent player, not very good, not horrible. 27 years of age, 10-ish caps for England.

Up against him on the same flank was Philipp Lahm. 20 years at Bayern, seven league titles, world cup winner, champions league winner. That was Bayern's captain, the one who ran past the Arsenal captain like he was still one of Wenger's promising kids for Lewandowski's 2-1.

Wenger has overseen the period which has lead up to the point where Arsenal lose 5-1 to Bayern and nobody even raises an eyebrow. Where Kieran Gibbs (the defense he was the cornerstone in quickly went from 1-1 to 1-4) is the captain in one of the biggest games of the season.

When the embarrassing fifth went in, captain Gibbs kind of clapped to encourage his teammates, and drew the attention of literally no one. That kind of sums up this Arsenal team. They've run down a dead alley and Wenger isn't the one to get them out of it. That would be Simeone. Time will tell, I suppose.

As Liverpool supporters you and I would love a bit of the consistency that Wenger has given Arsenal even when they haven't been winning; but like with us, it must be so frustrating knowing you are so close, yet so far away.

I basically agree with your post but I thought it was a bit arbitrary to zero in on Gibbs as captain to make your point. Wenger doesn't care much about the captaincy and no team has world-class players all the way throughout the squad.

Gibbs vs Lahm, both captains, Lahm's team smashes Gibbs' and Gibbs was shit? It's a spot on example. Watch Gibbs after that fifth goal again, for a few brief moments he personifies your last 10 title challenges.

I don't think football has that much to do with captains though tbh.

No I'm not saying you lost because Gibbs was your captain, I'm saying him being captain in such an important game kind of shows where your club has gone in the past 15 years. From Vieira to Gibbs.

Let's agree it's a perfectly decent example then.

There are reports in Italy suggesting that Allegri is moving to Arsenal in the summer (apparently he has told his friends as much) with Spalletti taking over at Juve.

With Wenger coming to Leicester such is his love for Vardy.

Klopp should go all out for Alexis imo. Offer some incentives for his dogs atom and bomb too.

Robbie said in the past he was an M.C. so he has definitely performed on stage previously. Also a decent boxer by all accounts; he's a man of many talents is big Robbie! :D

Na Will Hughes and Tom Ince will be the major summer signings. :ffs:
