he briefly followed the edl on twatter "to find out what they were about" at 18 years old, which obviously makes him a white supremacist and that.

the funny thing is many liverpool fans said they dont want a "racist" at the club when hughes was linked and a fuss was made about the twitter thing. a year later the club staff were publicly shaming liverpool fc by wearing t-shirts in defence of suarez's racism and fans were begging him to stay. funny old world init.

It was a genuine question directed at the you (Ebeneezer Goode) because you tend to know more than I about young english talents. Obviously it was an implicant question, but I remember it was a bit of a hurdle when we were linked with him years ago. I didn't know any details whatsoever and was too lazy to google. I just thought it was a plausible explanation as to why he hasn't been signed. If you read between the sly digs, I think GB kind of confirms it. Je sais pas. Only seen him play for the England U21's and he didn't really impress me at the time.

c'mon beelo, as if i'd pass up an opportunity for a bit of liverpool wumery. the twitter thing was an over reaction to an inquisitive/naive kid who happened to be in the spotlight. people love screaming racist at others nowadays, especially if they're famous/worth a lot of money.

i think the main reason he hasn't been signed up by a bigger club is, as mark said, derby's asking price, coupled with his injury trouble over the past couple of years. he rejected a new deal a year or two ago i think, which would have been the time for someone to come in and sign him. signed for 3 and a half years in january this year so he'd cost a lot to buy now.

very good player though, would suit your style of play well. needs to make the step up to a bigger club in the next couple of years imo.

Will hughes is massively overrated. Clubs in lower league usually try to hype up their players so big clubs like us come for him. There are better foreign talents for much much cheaper.

Yes mate I thought your post was quite funny actually.

I haven't seen enough of him to say whether I want him or not, but he's been on the radar for years now. I know what kind of player he is though, and while I agree he'd suit us well, centre mid is the least of our concerns right now. Which unfortunately doesn't say it's not a concern but you catch my drift. Any high rated racist left backs out there maybe?

Expected Goals
Arsenal are going to lose decisively and go out, then go on an excellent run of form in the league and finish ahead of Spurs.

It happens every year, just sometimes in a slightly different order.

Usually they win the second leg but still go out after a humiliating defeat in the Champions League though, so maybe this season will be even worse for them than usual. I can easily see them finishing outside the top four this season.

Wenger blaming the officials as usual/expected..of course no-one else has had decisions go against them before.

Sure the ref might have been harsh but does that excuse the total collapse?

And that isn't a new thing for Arsenal which must be the frustration!

That muppet is unbearable.

Don't understand people wanting him to right now. Who are they going to replace him with? Steve Bould for the rest of the season?

He'll still probably steer them to a 4 top four finish and they'll soon be in the fa cup semi final. Might aswell give him a chance to leave on a mini high and see who's available in the summer to replace him with.

They still go to the games then?

Thought they might have given up going as some sort of protest...

Why? He makes a valid point.
He's being deliberately superior, we know what Arsenal fans mean when they say Wenger is killing the club, we don't need idiots like him telling us that there is clubs around who are in worse positions than Arsenal.

No we don't. Arsenal fans have no divine right to win the title. They have finished top 4 every season he has been in charge and won trophies in the time since their last championship. Of the premier league winners since 2004, only Leicester haven't been funded far beyond what arsenal had at their disposal at the time.

The club has today denied that coach Boro Primorac is heading off to manage Konyaspor this summer. That they have been moved to do so despite Primorac being a fairly obscure employee is quite telling I think. He has been at Arsenal almost as long as Wenger and worked with him in Japan as well, and his exit would be the clearest sign yet that Arsene is leaving. Seems like the club are trying to smother speculation.

John Cross on Sunday Supplement said Wenger's deal has been arranged and waiting to be signed. Probably waiting till he goes on a good run of form again before he'll sign it. ;)
