Simpson gets sent off, Wasilewski comes on to effectively replace him and costs Leicester the game when the danger was almost clear. Excellent game of football and the right winner (sadly). Martin Atkinson had a nightmare.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
Tell you what. Leicester do like a two footed lunge. They get it right most of the time, but seems a dangerous tactic.

Arsenal were very lucky to win that, could easily have been a second penalty if the ref hadn't bottled it (or the arsenal players/fans etc hadn't been on his case after the first one was rightly given).

Still top and played all the sides around them, still Leicester's to lose.

Really on the last move, Arsenal.

But Arsenal could've get the advantage in score even before if their strikers could finsih the balls properly.

Simpson's stupidity cost Leicester. When Simpson got his first yellow I was saying to my mate that I can't believe Leicester are topping the league with Danny Simpson starting for them. Thought that I should have kept my mouth shut when he, deservedly and out of pure stupidity, got his second yellow moments later.

I was also saying to my mate on that final free-kick that I can't believe Leicester aren't putting more men in the box, Arsenal are outnumbering them and you know it's going to be a cross. Why bother with the wall? It's a cross and Leicester have insufficient numbers in there and Arsenal score. I thought Arsenal deserved to win due to these moments of stupidity from Leicester.

Well, the illusion of somebody different winning the league was nice while it lasted.

Forget Leicester, that goal's just knocked me out of the cup in the Premier League Game. Gutted.

The unstoppable red machine whose last 2 home league games had yielded a 1-0 loss to Chelsea and a 0-0 draw with Southampton?

Yeah ok then, "mate".

Great game from both sides. Reckon Leicester's run of good form came to an from this result.
Welbeck the perfect man to score the last minute winner. :brill:

Kante is a really good all-round footballer. If he played for Man Utd, he'd be a starting right back, then a left back, then a centre back.

Failed to give a foul before Leicester's penalty, should have given a penalty to Mahrez in the second half, failed to send Drinkwater off, he wasn't consistent in letting the play go. Wouldn't say it was the worst of the season, but it was a very poor performance. He didn't seem to have control of the game, got a little out of hand after the Mahrez penalty appeal.

Not so sure. This was their last game of a tough run (three of their last six were away to the other title contenders). They took 13/18 points and will still be top tonight whatever happens in the City/Spurs game. Their next five look very kind - 20th, 17th, 14th, 16th and 19th in the form table.

Yeah, Leciester definitely still in it. They need to extend their lead in that stretch of fixtures because they finish with Everton, Chelsea and United. I know all of those teams have underwhelmed this year, but all could ruin Leciester's title hopes if they are neck and neck with City, Arsenal or Spurs.

If City win later, I still see them taking it.

I didn't get to see this - sounds like it was an eventful one though.

And the ref was definitely trying his best to make sure that Leicester win (to hold Manchester City back, of course) as Silkyman intimated a few times in this thread. Not sure that tallies with his sending off of Simpson - but I won't bring logic into this.

The title race is a bit more exciting, I suppose.

Well, a matter of opinion, then. Because I didn't think it was a foul by Morgan on Özil, it just looked worse because Özil didn't even attempt to challenge for the ball. If he had, it would have looked more like your normal aerial tussle. And I didn't think it was a penalty for Mahrez, his knee just about hit Monreal's leg. Another 50-50 penalty call and Leicester had one of those go their way in the first-half, only justice being done that the next 50-50 didn't go their way. I guess I must have missed what Drinkwater did, for I don't know for what he should have been sent off. The ref had an OK game, imo.

Tbh the referee was very inconsistent, and his version of 'letting the game flow' definitely suited Leicester. Vardy bought his penalty but Monreal was daft and I can see why it was given.

Fair enough Smat - it's more the narrative that Silkyman tries to construct around these refereeing inconsistencies than the poor decisions themselves that makes me laugh more than anything.

I'll cast my beady over the MOTD highlights and give a definitive verdict to clear this all up once and for all.

It was a dramatic match that did live up to the hype. Shame about the result, but I still think Leicester could come out on top after the next set of fixtures in comparison with Arsenal.

It's gutting to lose with the last kick of the game but this game was always huge for Arsenal rather than ourselves. Our test is wether we can get the wins against the sides we're expected to beat.
We have Norwich (h), West Brom(h) and Watford(a) in our next 3. We should be looking to win all those though WBA will play for a 0-0 and Watford are a decent side, but if we want to win the league then we need to repeat our first half of the season.
Arsenal play Man Utd (a) Swansea (h) and then another 6 pointer against Spurs ath WHL.
Man City have Liverpool (a) Villa (h) and Norwich (a).
Spurs have Swansea (h) West Ham (a) and Arsenal (h).
Leicester definitely have the easier fixtures in the next 3 with at least one of the competition guaranteed to drop points. But we have to take 9 from 9 really.

pffft. Massive dive from Mahrez.

We were absolutely fantastic, we never gave up and were relentless going forward. Let's go on and win the title.

Same problems as always though. No composure and complete complacency in the final third. Thought Leicester were more than a match for them before the sending off. Can't see Arsenal doing it this season, which would be fucking embarrassing given the competition.
