Campbell is a strange player. He'll look totally ponderous and a bit awkward on the ball, then manage to pull something absurd and brilliant out of nowhere. I don't know if he will last at a top club like Arsenal in the long term, but he is definitely making a case for himself.

He's very useful in defense, too. He's a quality squad player, but I imagine he'll want to go elsewhere in search of a bigger role.

City are a bit hard done by, 2-0 down after that. But their defence does look like it can be got at. Two very good finishes (especially Walcott's). Hope we will just take the sting out of the game now, City looked dangerous on the break at 0-0.

Seems familiar, doesn't it? Reminds me of the way we (hopefully* used to) lose the big matches at Old Trafford, Stamford Bridge, etc.

Özil's performance is very similar to when Germany took England apart at the 2010 World Cup, finding the space between the midfield and defense. Toure is looking a liability, yes, but Fernandinho and Delph should be enough to fill that gap.

Otamendi and Mangala are an absolute shambles. There is no cover at all from the defensive midfield, despite 3 of them on the team sheet. Yaya Toure is totally anonymous, the game is completely passing him by. Fernandinho is simply dreadful, all over the place and completely out of his depth. Had Kompany missed the start of the season too, City would be nowhere near the top 4. The spine of City's side is woeful.

You've referenced testicles twice in this thread today, JJ.

When's the last time there was a player at one of the Sky 4 (and Liverpool) that was as universally liked as Alexis?

Mata.

The good guys are cruising to victory.

I've only been half watching but hasn't Delph been playing off the left? That is certainly where he was for the goals conceded.

Yaya getting the blame but surely it's Fernandinho's job to pick up Ozil and he couldn't even be bothered to close him down despite only being a few yards away.

Pellegrini still hasn't learnt that against the big teams or against anyone away from home City need to either play Yaya at 10 or drop him.

Otamendi could easily be off for that. Moronic play.

I can't believe how much the PL is favouring teams who defend more than attack. defence (and staying solid is paying off) seems to be the best form of attack. Prior to the match I said arsenal don't have enough in attack (or shouldn't do) to win the league, but now I've just realized, neither do Leicester really, but they are still getting good consistent results.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
Why are Arsenal fans booing sterling? Is it because Nasri isn't around and the Tarquins need someone?

man city like tottenham are over confident in their attacking capabilities (I mean no disrespect to any spurs or city fans, liverpool even do sometimes), they have good keepers, in Lloris and Hart, so they normally get away with over committing though

City look very poor indeed. Arsenal could end up with 4 here

Hector Bellerin and Nacho Monreal have both been excellent.

For all the talk about our softness and weak mentality, we've handled quite a lot of petulance and fought well throughout this match.

That's because without Kompany, City are much softer and weaker mentally than just about any other team in the league.

Joking aside, this season only Arsenal and Spurs are playing anything like they can; the rest of the 'top' sides have been woeful.

And Manure... :p

You'll get knocked out by someone shit, like always. van Gaal has easily defeated Liverpool three times since he's been at United, that's how shit you are. :box:

Aye under Rodgers, not under Klopp the mighty. ;)

The way the season is going actually I think Liverpool's best chance of doing something is in a cup this year as they'll finish midtable in the league.

Ramsey near the 18 yard box is like me at a buffet—incredible ambition despite a simple need and it usually ends messy.

Yaya going for a dive.
