That was a dreadful performance by Arsenal. Uncharacteristically narrow in attack, but kind of unlucky now to score one or two more. But defence was the real issue for them tonight obviously. They were noticeably slow to get into any kind of defensive shape when they lost the ball.

How inconsistent can a team be?!
Monaco were there for the taking early on and they bottled it.

Giroud should have scored a brace. Mertesacker made a terrible decision in the build-up to their second. The first is from a wild deflection. Monaco were immense in the 2nd half. Kondogbia and their CBs are terrific. Can't see us scoring enough in Monaco to overturn this. Frustrating day, but credit to Monaco. We looked utter crap after the first 5 minutes.

Wonder how long Wenger has? Seems a lot of Arsenal fans on twitter have lost a little faith after tonight.

Serves you right for mocking my Monaco praising comments you shits!

I expected a narrow Arsenal win or a draw but this? Monaco have scored 3 goals in the league just once this season! They're that bad going foward! THAT BAD!

Bloody hope Chelsea win - and you'll never usually catch me saying that, but this is a real embarrassment for English Football.

Ospina should never let that third goal in from that angle, woeful keeping.

Please stop banging the same drum...people predicted Arsenal would win because you have one of the supposedly top clubs in England facing an injury ridden Monaco team. You can't blame anyone for picking Arsenal over Monaco.

I'm disgusted that a big, historical English club who have qualified for the Champions League year upon year, concede 3 at home to an injury ridden French side.

The most disappointing thing is that we've played much better when we've played much better sides. I could take just not being good enough but tonight was about 10% of what we're capable of. Özil, Cazorla and Giroud have all been great the past month but disappeared tonight. Sanchez has struggled a bit since getting injured and tonight was no better. Welbeck spent half the match as a CM.

We have to go all out now in Monaco. It's playing into their hands but if we can nick an early goal and get some momentum it's possible. Need to be more clever than tonight though. We've actually had some very good performances when looking down and out after the first leg (vs Bayern and Milan in recent memory) and gone out on away goals, third time lucky maybe.

They are good at home Monaco, but I would hardly consider it a place that is intimidating like going to the Nou Camp etc. If Arsenal turn up, they can score three.

No offence Arse but it's always good to see the greed league shown up on the European stage.

I thought Monaco were excellent all things considered.

Yeah, but the problem is Monaco have spent stupid amounts in the last few years!

Embarrassing and we didn't deserve anything but I don't know how you can explain Giroud missing those two open goals after his run of 8 goals in 11.. also being on the wrong end of a couple of freak moments in their first goal and Welbeck's effort somehow hitting Walcott and going over never helps.

Still, no excuses cos we were pathetic overall.

Is Aymen Abdennour usually this good? Exactly the type of no-nonsense defender United could be doing with.

I wanted United to sign Kondogbia when he was at Sevilla. Exactly what we needed in midfield. Will only get better.

Yea Kondogbia is ridiculous, and we were so close to signing him for £4m a few years back

Tonight is one of those times where you wonder where the English Premier league would be without the commercial deals..

Sometimes. Not a consistent defender but agree he was immense today. Has had his injury problems aswell.
