'We're gonna bat well' Michael Clarke, Toss, 06/08/15, 10:30.

Marginally 2 hours over, all out for 60.

:)

60 all out is absolutely disgraceful.

Brilliant!

Got this on my I Pad in work on Sky Go. Had about 5 or 6 people round my desk and we were all having a great time watching the demise of the Aussies.

Sensational. There's no massive demons in the pitch but Broad just bowled perfectly. He has these spells every now and again where he's unplayable and this was one of them. If we can get to the close about 4 or 5 wickets down with 200 on the board, I don't think we will have ever had a better day of test cricket ever.

I actually was pretty close to getting a ticket for today as well. DAMN.

No play on day 4 and 5 then...or 3 probably!

What is the pitch like - bright green!?

Crazy thing is it's not that green. Bowler friendly for sure, and we had the cloud cover in the morning to help, but not as much as that one against India last year, say. Root and Cook are now making batting look relatively easy going on it *touches wood sheepishly*

Just a combination of outstanding bowling from Broad and some truly shocking batting.

There's a couple of grassy patches. England bowled well under cloudy skies with a bit of nibble. Australia's batting and shot selection was astonishingly bad, like, horrific, Sunday morning stuff. The media are crucifying Clarke back home, absolutely battering him.

60 all out is far more embarassing than anything Johnson did to us down under.

You could tell this was on the cards from Clarke's extremely edgy interview after the toss this morning.

"The camp feels like it did before Lords" :brill:

Astounding cricket, got to hand it Broad bang on the button but Australia, never seen such incompetence. Certainly not as good as they've been made out to be, but something's not right there, all the Haddin stuff indicated that.

Brilliant day, just tainted slightly by the wicket at the end and sending in a nightwatchman.:bl: Just a glimpse that we haven't fully embraced modern cricket.

Yeah like the "positive" Aussies.............we should be more like them.

Might give the ACB a bell, maybe a couple of our second team could shore up their batting :bg1:

What Haddin stuff do you mean? Neville came in and did excellently, there were questions about his mental state with what had been going on.

I don't suspect Clarke is very happy with the selection panel. The fact he has no say at all, is a joke.

Been on nights, so I set my alarm to watch the play after lunch. Woke up, put the telly on and saw England 13-0, so thought there had been a bit of rain or something. Then saw England trail by 47, and it utterly failed to compute we'd bowled the Aussies out for 60. Having watched the highlights, it is clear the Aussies have no clue how to play on any pitch outside of home, and maybe SA. Their middle order is useless and I can see Clarke being sacked sometime Saturday afternoon. They are in complete turmoil, whereas England are a side on the up.

Is there anywhere I can catch the highlights? I'm on the late shift at work tonight so missed the Channel 5 catch-up, but it doesn't appear that they do an on-demand service for the show.

He will have even less to say about it soon :2thumb:

Smith now falls victim to Broad.

They're dropping like flies.

Voges and Clarke will soon follow.

I heard the squad were not happy he hadn't been selected, not saying it's an excuse but the Australian camp seems quite divided, although to be fair they've always had rifts.

Well, that's the ashes wrapped up. Got to give Cook a lot of credit his captaincy has been very good, if in favourable circumstances. South Africa next up, it seems to be whoever is at home wins in test matches now.

Pakistan in the UAE to come as well in between. Tough series with our spin options and Pakistan are looking a very decent side lately.

In fact: Ashes, Pakistan then SA - that's a daunting 12 months! But we've passed the first with flying colours

Oh yeah, never know what to make of the UAE games. Imagine them to be flat tracks?

Pretty much like subcontinent from what I remember. Their spinners made a mockery of our batting order last time we were over there
