It'll be interesting if he does, for no other reason that Torquay ought to be asking for compensation.

No word on whether his resignation has been accepted but someone down there needs to a) be looking for compensation if Halifax do want him or b) putting a clause somewhere saying he can't manage elsewhere for 'x' amount of weeks if they think that's what he's doing (or put him on gardening leave for three months)

I wonder if Torquay have their eye on someone else, and it all works out nicely to let Halifax take him rather than the other guy, and get who they want. They clearly wouldn't just accept it if they were going to look for compensation, for them it is probably a nice cheap way to change things around. Not sure how Torquay fans feel about it?

Halifax to take Cox seems like a good match, he gets to go back up north, similar style of play so he should be able to work with the squad that is already there. Sorry shaymen but it's not going to be a big change, but I guess it will have to be acceptable if it gets results?

edit: I've just caught up on the Torquay thread, and it makes grim reading. Sounds like the Gulls will be lucky if they receive some compensation, but likely that it would go straight in to an existing black hole, possibly even to pay Cox what he is owed. Leaving the original above.

Oh do fuck off. I can take that from fans of pretty much any other team (with the exception of woking) but rough and tumble rovers???!!

Hahahaha. This coming from the ONLY club in this league to be singled out in a NATIONAL newspaper for their thuggish antics. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...tml?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490

"Harry Beautyman was lucky he didn't have his leg broken against Halifax... I've never seen such savagery on a football pitch"

Your team were a disgrace to the division under Aspin, sly fouls, diving, moaning and worst of all racism, on and off the pitch. Not to mention the odd bout of downright thuggishness.

Indefensible conduct all round, most organisations would have got rid of anyone overseeing this sort of behaviour much, much sooner.

Cox and Halifax would be a nightmarish hoof ball combination.

Wilkin would do a good job at Halifax IMO.

Cox and Haliax would be a match made in heaven, like some kind of nightmare ugly entity merging into supervillainy. Just not with the same headline making effect as Jeremy Corbyn, though.

This whole Halifax-FGR thing is getting embarrassing for the forum now, it's like arguing between pulling a tooth out without anaesthetic and a kick direct to the gut.

Let it go.

Agreed, but it is largely two people who keep it going, the rest of us seem capable of polite conversation. Maybe it is time for the mods to set up a private room and send them both there until they sort their differences out and are ready for rehabilitation back into the wider forum.

I'm sorry but have you ever been to Halifax?
I have and safe to say both times I was disgusted. The first time a mate of mine was racially abused walking up Shaw Hill when we were going to go to a game as neutrals, having been in the area for a weekend by so called Halifax fans basically saying his type weren't wanted. We made a complaint but absolutely nothing was done. I put it down to an isolated incident, probably just a few idiots (a lot of clubs have them) so didn't have a problem going as an away fan. I'm white anyway, so I thought there wasn't likely to be any hassle.

The second time was last season for our game there when their behaviour on and off the pitch was a disgrace, and these allegations of racism were hardly a shock given my previous experience. So excuse me if I have an axe to grind about the way the club has handled itself, on and off the pitch, in recent times.

What a load of bollocks. Our digs at your transparently fake football club have clearly hit home to the point of seriously unbalancing you. Obviously I can't say if the first incident actually happened but the previous evidence of your desperation to invent "crimes" purpetrated by our people makes me inclined to believe it did not, especially as your only evidence is because you say so. Sir, your previous form makes you what would be known in a court room as an "unreliable witness". Your laughable presentation of a youtube video with an audible comment of "he's in again" as one of your goons jumped back in among his colleagues as they assaulted Neil Aspin, and your yearning to hear the phrase as "he's a n****r" shows what we're talking about here. Simply repeating specious allegations over and over without and, in most examples, contrary to the actual evidence will not make them any more true than throwing money down a toilet and employing past and future killers will turn a Tin Pot joke into a real football club. Av it!! :£

And Locked. Yet another thread which has gone totally off topic and descended into a FGR - Halifax bickering match. Its getting tiresome now for everyone. Could we take any further greviances to PM?
Also Racism including the N Word is prohibited on here. Could we leave it out in future?
Thanks

This is a surprise! Will be very interesting to see where they turn next?

Cant see Redfearn droping to non league.

Kevin Wilkin?

Wilkin appointed at Brackley now, so off the table.

Surprising. Good appointment for them.

Rumour has it Gary Mills (the other one) will be announced as his assistant.

It just wouldn't be Brackley without a couple of former Diamonds players heading things up.

Could be a fantastic appointment for them. They need it after their start to the season. I'm curious about the financial situation there as I haven't kept up. I believed the backer reduced how much he was putting in but still bankrolling them somewhat. Is the case?

Gary Mills resigned from his managerial position at whoever he was at, about two weeks ago, so could be something in it.

Rugby Town. They started very poorly after just missing out in the playoffs in the SLD1C last season, shifted north to the NPLD1S. They only have on win so far this season against another of the sides to start poorly. (Gresley)

I hope Mills remembered to take his ladder with him when he left Rugby.

Is it Dave Hockaday? He's high calibre, and knows the area, he's managed Leeds!

Managed Leeds poorly, and 99.9% of his experience is Tin Pot and he didn't do that very well either. So that's a no. :bdick:

Brenda Rodgers?

Had a little peek to see what the fans are thinking on the Skircoat Shed, and it looks like Abbott or Clough eh? Not sure about the former, but I don't think Clough is willing to go to a conference club now after managing some high profile clubs, so that's a bit of a stretch.
