Imagine "crying" over not getting a playoff place in the third tier of English football.
Imagine crying over football? Over being a fan? Being on the terraces? Are you serious or are you a troll? Seriously wtf is this. As a fans point not even as a business prospective you post utter sh1te.

Imagine getting emotionial over football and injustice. Jeaus Christ you're a knob.

You don’t.

I cried when my mum died etc, but not over a bloody football game, not even when we were relegated to the conference

Then maybe you're not as connected as some fans. I cried when we were relegated. I cried when we were promoted. Football is my release. Its my stress valve. It's more than a game like you claim. Maybe you don't get it but maybe you're not old enough. Football is a family, a culture, a part of me. To you it might not be much but to some its the stability i need in my life. Personally and mentally. It's what gets me and others through the week. Check up the Coventry depression, before you continue to post insensitive crap, buddy.

Well it looks like with that statement from the EFL we'll be back down here next season under incredible circumstances.

We've had a brilliant time of it (albeit brief) in League One and to go from playing North Ferriby to the likes of Sunderland, Ipswich and Portsmouth in 2 years is some going. I'll always maintain that getting relegated in this way is ridiculously harsh on us. At this stage last season in League One, only 1 of the 4 teams that were in the relegation zone ended up getting relegated. Wimbledon were 7 points adrift and stayed up.

I think this will galvanise the club even more now and get us moving in the right direction again. We're a very well run club and can be extremely thankful knowing that we're financially secure in a time when a lot of other clubs will be struggling. We'll come back fighting next season and hopefully be challenging for promotion at the first attempt.

Of course I’m connected with football ya tit .

You mention I might not be old enough - I’ve followed Mansfield for 25 years - from your posts you can’t be older than teenager or early twenties at the oldest - unless you’re special

I posted about my mum dying but you accuse me of posting Insensitive crap. Wow :lol::lol::lol::lol:

Still yet to take you seriously after you said you’d teach Mansfield a lesson lost 4-1 and disappeared for a month! lol

I didn't dissappear from this forum, its full of idiots so I don't come here much but lockdown got me bored. I treat the other forum much more serious and perhaps dont 'troll' as much but you show you have no genuine connection to your posts and I stick by that. I'm sorry about your mum but it doesn't change the impression you give.

FWIW and just so everyone is clear - I'm 25.

Oh, please. Stop it :brill:

It just seemed odd that you were here that much before the game posting how almighty Exeter were going to batter us that game. I actually found the thread which was amusing.

You went missing for about a month straight after the game. I remember quite a few of the normal Exeter fans were pretty happy about it too

Even the mighty Man Utd have racked up debt of £429m and income has been slashed due to no games and having to reimburse broadcasters.

Manchester United have displayed the brutal impact of COVID-19 on the world’s largest football clubs today as the quarterly results display. The total net debt has risen by 42% up to an eye-watering £429.1million with the club citing the current pandemic and the economic demise for the financial downturn (Laurie Whitwell, the Athletic).

Manchester United Debt Increases by 42% to £429.1million

The COVID-19 Effect

On top of searing debt, the club’s revenues have taken a slash. As a result of the lack of games, revenues dropped by 18.7% to £123.7million. Manchester United have not played a fixture since the 5th of March when they thrashed LASK 5-0. The absence of football is having a discernable impact on the club as overall, during Q3, the club made a loss of £3.3million.

Broadcast revenues of all Premier League clubs have slashed as they have refunded the Premier League part of their TV deal money. Clubs paid the Premier League around £15million as no games were broadcast in the last eight weeks.

Many are, correctly, worrying about EFL clubs who depend largely on matchday income to survive. However, this latest development shows that clubs up and down the footballing pyramid should be alarmed by the stark impact that the lack of games is having.

A Catastrophic Impact?

All football clubs globally will feel the economic impact of COVID-19. For Manchester United, the impact will most likely be felt in the transfer market. The club manages to spend big money compared to European clubs due to their superior revenue streams which, as mentioned, have taken significant cuts. The longer the absence of games continues means the effect will only get worse.
The current quarterly accounts do not make pretty reading and signify how devastating COVID-19 is on football. Debt continually rising also displays the mismanagement of the Glazers since 2005. However, football will one day continue, and Manchester United will continue to flourish.

That's not what anyone said but sure, don't hate the game..

No hating, Just genuinely confused.

The site linked said 34 cases in England yesterday but 2615 in the UK.

Just asking for some clarification as I have obviously misunderstood the figures.

Looks like we could really be in the shit now.

Some journo has tweeted the present allegations about Gareth Barry are just the tip of an enormous iceberg and could have catastrophic effect on the club.

Owners, eh.

Indeed, not an ideal situation for you or any other club at this level really. Sad news.

Especially as I would have previously have seen Swindon as one of the more “safer” clubs throughout all this too

It’s never the club, though, is it. It’s always some scheming crook of an owner.

Fuck knows what he’s been up to but being snapped sitting next to a well known London gangster at Millwall a couple of years back gets you wondering.

We’ve all had one sadly

We had Haslam (twat) - doesn’t say much for the running of the game

I do notice your Trust isn’t free from fan criticism.

I suppose if your ambition is to perennially bounce between the bottom 2 leagues, fair enough.

Better to do that than the alternative.

Swindon wouldn’t be fit for the championship anymore than Exeter or Mansfield would be. Sadly the money coming down from the premiership/the money spent in desperation in the championship has left the lower leagues behind

Not sure I agree with that. Granted, you’d need some financial muscle but Wycombe ffs are close this season.

Difficult to stay there, sure. But it shouldn’t stop you trying.

Of course you shouldn’t give up, and obviously though it doesn’t count for much now Swindon have been in the championship and beyond (obviously a little more modest at Mansfield and Exeter).

I reckon we could be going where no club has gone before!

25 eh. When talking about your refereeing credentials you claimed on Jan 3rd in the New Years Day Match Thread “12 years of officiating in the Southern National League with my level 2b qualification.”

You cannot formally be a qualified ref until you are 14. So one of those statements is erroneous. Which one? Or both?

Devon Lad officiating in the southern league for 12 years seemed a bit unlikely tbh.
