I'm off to Kiddy tomorrow, been looking forward to this fixture all season. Hope the fabled pies are on form.
Nothing less than 3 points will do, so I wouldn't be surprised if Brabin sets the team up for a 0-0.

because they've conceded 35 goals less, perhaps

Yeah I know their defensive record is good but still, theyve only just about scored 1 goal a game which is usually bottom half/relegation form rather than top 5 - must have won a lot of games 1-0 this season!

Reckon Braintree and Dover are going on the accumulator tomorrow. 17/10 and Evens respectively.

Undecided on whether I can be arsed actually going. We'll lose.

10 of their 43 goals came in 2 games against us and Halifax.

Away to Gainsborough tomorrow. Amazingly despite our recent drop in form we are still unbeaten away from home in 2016. Hope that can continue. Looking forward to my first trip to Northolme.
Their social club is amazing, not been to the Northolme for a while.

Remember being part of 2000+ Imps for the playoff semi there in 2005, took a lot there in '98 for infamous on field scrap.
Fair play to you guys, your away support is better than a lot of league sides.
Ah good old Barry Richardson giving John Askey a boot the the head! All 22 on field players involved in the following fracas, with Ben Sedgemore sent off for us, not sure if Richardson saw red as well? Steve Wood popped up with a very late winner for us after though IIRC. We won 19 and drew 4 of our 23 home games that first season in league football, the best in all of British professional football that season. Great season that was, and the very beginning of a little something of a rivalry prior to turning into mutual respect following Keith and Butch's passings.

Looks like you may even outnumber us! We've had some huge away followings at the Moss this season - 1,000 from Wrexham, 900 from Chester, 900 from Tranmere and now something similar from Grimsby too.
What worries me is that this season our 5 highest away followings have yielded just 3 points from a possible 15.
Halifax 1767 Lose 2-4
Lincoln 1734 Draw 1-1
Kidderminster 1689 Draw 2-2
Gateshead 1008 Lose 0-1
Guiseley 960 Draw 2-2

So i won't be holding out much hope tomorrow, despite our excellent record at your place!

We've got nothing to play for though so if you're up for this then I can see you winning it. I know you're probably getting tired of people saying this but that it absolutely fantastic away support. Does anyone know the record away attendance in the fifth division?

Barry saw red as Jon Whitney went in goal, signed for you didn't he? Sedge played for us and became skipper under Keith.

The phrase "solid but not spectacular" was written for Sedge!

Well we took 4000 to Fisher Athletic back in 1991!

I went there once in the 1988 (I was at Uni in Kent) and saw them play Altrincham in a FA Trophy replay (Barrow had the winners in the next round) - did that ground actually hold 4000?

Best you get there early; the pies sell out quick.

I think it held 4,500 so just about!
That ground has been derelict for a few years but a housing development is now being built over it.

I wouldn't, Smith will typically set us up not to concede at home, we'll probably play the same back 4 as at FGR with two defensive midfielders in front. Given that Braintree don't score many and neither do we, this has 0-0 all over it so 21/10 on the draw would be where I'm looking, though I hate putting draws in an acca.

I remember that season. We played you the final game, a 3-2 home win. That was a phenomenal home record. Never realised it was that good at the time. The game was a celebration in which both teams took part. The ground was packed with over 6,500 fans and lots locked out. You played Man City on equal terms the following season iirc.

Yeah 3-2, did Rod Thomas score a screamer for you? Yep following season our first home game was Kevin Keegan's moneybags Fulham, followed by the likes of Citeh, Preston, Stoke, Blackpool, burnley, Wigan, reading. Unbelievably strong league that year, resulting in our first ever relegation!

We were in that division that year too (98/99?). As were Lincoln I think. Bristol Rovers and Luton were as well, so half the league have gone up to the Premier and the other half headed to non league!

We drew 0-0 at Maine road in August. One of the most entertaining nil nils I've ever seen.

Our game at Welling is 'currently on' with the pitch 'deemed playable at the moment'.

Looking forward to arriving, and then it getting postponed.

We got hammered 4-0 at maine road in front of 26,000 (their lowest Saturday crowd of the season!)
Very strong league that season Reading only finished midtable, Gillingham were in there too they got beat in dramatic fashion by Man City in the playoff final.
We went to Bournemouth on the opening day, very hot day!

Clearing up a bit now.

But if it rains who gives a fuck, we're the mighty Rovers, the weathers not going to stop our promotion juggernaut, back on track WITH A BANG.

Plus if it's really bad I'll stay in the bar, wont miss much until the last minute anyway.

I'd be gobsmacked if our game goes ahead.

We don't do postponed games, especially rain, but it has frickin' bounced it down since midnight. Blowing a gale as well. Hardly anyone will turn up as it is.

Tranmere fans no worries about the pitch and no inspection planned after heavy rain. It's stopped raining and our pitch drains brilliantly.
