Just home after a fantastic weekend and I've got to say that they were spot on. An amazing turn-out by us too especially after we'd lost our previous 2 games. I thought we have around 500 but almost double that was a great effort.

Even in the last 10-15 minutes when a section of our fans got a bit rowdier than they had been all game they coped pretty well. Not sure if this video has been posted elsewhere but here's our fans behind the goal filmed by one of our fans in the seats. One of the most enjoyable away games for a long time.

Nice to have a set of fans visit whose purpose was to enjoy the day rather than show aggression when things didn't go their way.

I did think the ref was going to stop the game at one point to clear all the inflatables that had built up by the barrier.

Ah, but they weren't shaking the net in a dangerous and intimidating manner.

Yeah, it's laughable really and it also goes to show how badly traveling football fans in general are treated.

One one hand a fan is assaulted by a steward (whatever he did or didn't do, did not justify the treatment he got) and nothing happens about it, whilst on the other hand a fan hits a steward (accidentally or not) with an inflatable shark and is charged with common assault and given an interim banning order until after the case is heard.

Grimsby fans were celebrating, you guys were foaming at the mouth and determined to start a fight with stewards. There's the difference, get over it.

As for the Grimsby fans getting arrested: it's pathetic, but our club can't be held responsible for the actions of the Met.

I can't believe you're STILL biting. I'm bored now.

I concur about the Grimsby stewards. I don't know, maybe they were on their best behaviour after the incident at Fgr. I've found the stewarding great compared to the Fl. Mainly due to the fact that their actually club volunteers rather than steroid chugging meatheads. I remember in league 1 being treated like absolute dirt at Elland Rd and surprisingly Leyton Orient (The met had a free Saturday again). This season has in general been a breath of fresh air, really invigorated my love for the beautiful game.

Just shows why you have to be proactive when policing yobs with inflatables.

If our stewards hadn't taken such decisive action when faced with a man wielding an inflatable then an assault like the one at Barnet could easily have occurred.

Ive just heard on radio 4 that a town supporter was taken to court for hitting a steward over the head with an inflatable three times after a grimsby goal, 2 questions:

What a miserable sod am i misreading this but surely this is going too far a police caution would have been overkill but acceptable.

And how did the stewards material being be detrimented as to deserve 100 pounds in compensation? Expensive hair gel? Did this inflatable mess his hair parting up?

Am i getting this totally wrong or should this steward never be allowed anywhere near real football supporters again? Banish him to old trafford or anfield where supporters with no passion for therir home town ( cos they only go there once a year) clap politely when a goal is scored

Does this make us not the worst fans EVER to have visited Barnet now?

It would be interesting to hear the name of the steward who was so harshly assaulted. What a fanny and I would be very embarrassed to be him.

Type of person who spends his life on the phone to dodgy claims companies pretending to have stubbed his toe on an invisible payment

After Craig Disley bagged an injury-time winner, Meech assaulted steward Cgagi Gladyng as they celebrated the vital goal.

Meech, of Alexandra Road, Cleethorpes, was arrested at the ground and taken to Harrow Police Station where he was charged with common assault.

When I went to Barnet the stewards seemed ok. we 2000 to the hive no problems at all (unlike somewhere where one of our fans was ejected for reminding their keeper that he drunk/drove and killed 2 kids )

Hey don't forget the diving prick McClure or the twat Bloomfield who went in two footed on Weston. Our first was never a red if that challenge wasn't one either.

Your fans were fine that day though, looking forward to you coming back for our first home match this season.
