I wonder what will happen at Kiddy now. Barnet was a reaction to what happened at FGR and now it seems that Mariners fans will be taking shoals (or is it schools?) of inflatable sharks to Kiddy on the first day.

One site on Ebay selling them for £1.89 each with free P&P has apparently sold over 100 today alone! :woo:

Woah woah woah...PLOT TWIST.

Apparently today is Shark Awareness Day. Could it be that the sharks happened to bribe the court into making their decision, THE DAY BEFORE Shark Awareness Day? Bit too much of a coincidence, I reckon!

Some odd comments in this thread, does anyone know the actual circumstances?

Ultimately someone has made an allegation of common assault, provided a statement and was willing to support a prosecution. That's why he's been nicked. Whilst it's amusing that it was an inflatable shark, it's still an assault. The bloke apparently hit him three times too, which surely is excessive shark force...

Someone else mentioned that he should have been given a police caution. Police cautions can't be given to everyone, and the bloke may have chosen to not accept a caution and take the matter to court.

Anyway, Mansfield had the worst stewards going for a long time. The battle of Field Mill in 2007 between them and their own fans was a particular gem.

I just hope lots of people who appeared on Wackadays don't try and sue Timmy Mallet for brain damage suffered whilst a kid after seeing this case.

Apparently the Shark he took to court was just a smaller scale version. He actually had a six foot long ride on one with handles at the game, seriously... :fl:

Where is this company making inflatable sharks of varying sizes?

I'm still trying to work out if this is true. Did he really take the one he was originally pictured with on the BBC website?

Also the Police officer brought CCTV footage with him but it wasn't allowed as evidence, does anyone know why?

I think he did yeah, there's a picture of it OnlyBarnet.

I suspect the CCTV was not allowed to be used as it hadn't been previously disclosed to the defence.

This story seems to have made the news all over the world. I've seen articles from New Zealand, America and Australia among others.

Kenny must be "basking" in all this limelight he's currently getting. :bg:

Good to see that all this hasn't affected Kenny's sense of humour.

This is his latest Facebook profile picture. :bg:

Worst thing about this is that Akinde shouted to the steward to stay down and try and get a penalty......
