Great result for League 2’s form team.

Surprised the attendance was under 5000 especially with a pretty healthy away following thrown in . Surely the time is now for the Mansfield public to respond and turn up ?

Under Day you were lucky to have roof on the Social club. Heating was a luxuary

What is it with Notts fans, ok sorry just the one... Viking / Enzo (depending on which account he/she is logged in to at the time) seemed to be obsessed with our attendances? :ffs:

Our crowds are what they are. They aren't fantastic (see what I did there), but there again they aren't that bad. They are ok.

I will agree your point (even though it was probably more of a sly dig), as I was a bit disappointed with the gate. I expected more for this Boxing Day fixture. Maybe the pricing is too expensive, with the cost on the day for an adult being £24 / £25?

We're not a big town/city with a large urban area and most people around here seem to support Notts Forest or a premier team they can watch on Sky (in my opinion will be the death of lower league football as we know / knew it).

Accrington seemed to do well last season with regular 1500 or below home fans. :pond:

I was just surprised it was the traditional Boxing Day fixture , over 600 away fans and you are in incredible form both away and especially home .

The reason Amber is simple , the obsession with away attendances not home but away is a strange beast especially from fans of certain clubs . You can’t be too critical about pathetic away support when less than 5000 were at the Mill when everything is going so incredibly well !

Thank you for being so honest with your viewpoint and disappointment , very refreshing and rare to hear from our friends up the road .

Totally agree about TV and Premiership , there are two types of football nowadays . I much preferred football when the have and have nots weren’t so distant .

Money has ruined football for people who actually attend in my opinion

I was hoping for 5000 and we ended up about 40 or so short of that. Our crowds historically have always been below average bar a couple of decent years from 2001-2004.

They’re going the right way, Since Radford bought the club they’ve improved each season bar one.

I guess when your clubs bottom of the football league maybe it’s better to focus on anything else you possibly can, I would in their shoes.

Guess how many teams in the top seven have bigger average attendance than the super stags other than MK Dons and Lincoln!?!?!?

More importantly guess who’s in the automatic spots with a game or in some cases TWO games in hand?

Apparently chesterfield got slightly more than us too. I wonder if they cling on to irrelevant things like attendances when in the conference relegation zone? :fl:

Amber you don’t have to look too close from home to see obsession ;)

The chuckle brothers could of said that they were a little disappointed when the attendance was announced and it began with a 4 ! But that would be being honest and that’s not really your thing is it ? Haha

Adam as always , happy to discuss all things football away from away and home attendances if you wish :) but i’m going to mention the past , not 100 years ago , just 10 or so. Is that ok? That’s not going to upset you again is it ? Or are we only allowed to talk about this season ?

If so please can we avoid doing our chat on a Notts match thread thats already being used and dominated by your Spanish amigo haha

As I alluded to on my previous post you came on this thread to make a sly did. I made a few points about our our attendances, which you have largely ignored and gone in for further dig.

So we've concluded about Mansfields home gates, what's your point? You've got more fans than us and therefore get bigger gates, living in an area much populated than Mansfield... well done. How has this helped you in the league table?

So we've concluded that Nottingham is considerably larger than Mansfield, probably 4 or more times, and has an urban area vastly larger than Mansfields. You have Forest on your doorstep, we contend with them as well for support in the area.

Oh and to clarify, there wasn't 'over 600 away fans', there were 516 Bury fans there.

There are many mistakes in your post , the main ones are as follows

1. It wasn’t sly at all it was clear and blatant . You agreed , the usually vocal duo kept silent . Funny that

2. I haven’t ignored at all . In fact I applauded your honesty which is a rarity . Instead of making things up , I welcome such an honest approach

3. We have concluded , just me and you but I’m afraid our agreed conclusion is at odds with some of your buddies . How have you missed this ? I even clearly stated why I mentioned the disappointing attendance . Obsession with away followings ? Multiple posts on multiple threads haha . Remember ?

4. It hasn’t helped in the league table this season , it did last season . The history of football suggests it helps . Sssshhhhh don’t mention history too loudly we don’t want to upset 1997 Adam

5. Forest are a large shadow and dominate the city of Nottingham you are correct , football fans know this

6 I apologise for being 100 out on Bury’s away following . Did the resident away attendance gestapo get straight on that and call it pathetic ? It was Boxing Day after all , historically a bonanza for football attendances haha

7 Great result , Bury are clearly a good side in this division who will no doubt comfortably beat us at Meadow Lane

Merry Christmas

So nice to be top 3, good feeling about it.

Let’s push on from here. It could be soooo much worse.

Glad I opted for the boxing day family buffet when I saw that Lowe made seven changes.

Men against boys by the sounds of it, sadly the tactic of resting and changing the team didn't pay off and we were lucky to draw with your neighbours.

The R&C is a cracking pub if you should venture to Bury again, watch out for that drunken Ale lout Keith though

Our away form is only marginally better this season than the past 2/3 seasons. Probably won about 10 times maybe less in the last three years.

We’ve never really taken great amounts away from home anyway. Our core base are old.

Disagree, always thought our away support is decent considering our home attendances. I do think the away form since Autumn 2015 may have dampened numbers. Also a crying shame that two of the season's best away days in Mansfield and Notts had to be one after the other which probably had an effect on numbers for both.

Notts county fans.

Wonder if Notts County are to you what Oldham (and formerly Stockport) are like to us?

Always thought our clubs had a few things in common, perhaps if the fatty liar man Day had spent more time aspiring to be like Mansfield rather than Chesterfield he wouldn't have messed up so badly....

Scrap that he is an incompetent joke, he'd have messed up regardless.

In recent times if you want to know the latest goings on at Notts County, simply ask your nearest Mansfield fan ( if you can find one away from the internet )

Possibly. Better to focus on other clubs than focus on the disaster at home.

Either way, I don’t care about anything apart from points, hopefully DF doesn’t have one of his meltdowns and we carry on as we are. The club is on an upward trajectory on and off the pitch, which is all I could ask for.
