Best and worst you’ve seen this season

Quite simple, best and worst teams you’ve seen this season.

Best for me was Sutton. Organised, composed and really bossed us at Sixfields a few weeks ago.

Worst were either Scunthorpe or Stevenage, no ideas, no quality.

Best: Walsall for the first 20 mins. Didn't see the Vale defeat, so only Aston Villa have been impressive so far.

Worst: Bristol Rovers were crap but we had to make do with a point with 10 men, Exeter did nothing at all for 90 mins, and Oldham started with spirit but soon turned awful.

I know it isn’t reflected in the league position but Mansfield have been the most impressive opponent. Played very well against us. Other than that would put Rochdale in the conversation.

Worst is probably Colchester. Just nothing to them at all. Look like a team that is just sleepwalking into trouble. Harrogate were not very good either to be honest.

Best - Tranmere

Worst - any out of Bristol Rovers, Colchester or Sutton

Best - Port Vale & Swindon. Vale in particular blew us away early on and then looked very comfortable.

Worst - Stevenage were abject. Offered absolutely nothing. By far the worst side we’ve played. Much worse then Scunthorpe who I expected to be the worst, but actually looked alright and created a number of chances.

Best: Swindon, by quite some way. Credit also to Tranmere and Exeter. Didn't see Port Vale so can't comment re them.

Worst: Stevenage followed by Walsall. Little evident to offer from either, Scunthorpe had some fight in them at least, Crawley weren't much cop but had energy.

Worst: Crawley. A couple of times this season we have been very poor.

Best: I missed our 6-3 loss to FGR but in the league Harrogate took us to the cleaners until we went down to ten men and they backed off. We got a lucky point there.

Best: Port Vale are the only team who have outplayed us this season, but FGR were very impressive. Either one worthy but FGR came up against a far better version of us and still shone, so I’ll say them.

Worst: Has to be Oldham, really. Insanely comfortable 4-0 win, but pleased to see they’ve improved. Bradford weren’t much better and neither were Mansfield who we’d’ve slapped 3 or 4 on another day.

Nobody has really been that bad against us, not National League bad anyway.

From what I've seen, Exeter and Northampton were the best. None of them blew me away mind.

Worst was probably Walsall, offered nothing all game.

Best: nobody has massively impressed me. I thought Vale had our number without being amazing.

Worst: Us, by far. Our performance at Harrogate is the worst performance I've ever seen by any football side. Apart from us, it would be Crawley or Tranmere the two sides that we beat. Tranmere seemed devoid of any ideas going forward but seem to have stepped it up in the goals department since then. Crawley players just didn't seem to care for long spells of the game.

But then in January it’s pointless because teams will make signings, changing the team and rendering the previous months irrelevant!

No need to get salty because Don said Tranmere looked shit.

I’m changing my worst team we’ve played to Tranmere for the way we dominated them in the second half, they looked devoid of ideas. Granted I didn’t see them using the previous formation.

Stevenage were the worst over 90 minutes, however the first 45 minutes showing by Bristol Rovers was the worst performance I've seen for many years, or were we just so good in that 45 minutes?

So? You were still bad in that one specific game, I never said you weren't a good team.

Exactly, I daresay the majority if not all of us will have only seen other L2 clubs when our own have played them.

Harrogate were very ordinary on the day against us. Doesn’t mean they’re a poor team as how they’ve done otherwise indicates they’re not. I could well understand Mansfield or to a lesser degree Northampton fans thinking we were pretty average based on that day but clearly done better overall.

You looked bang average and we had a bad day. Not judging your season on that game. Effective football doesnt make you a good team. It makes you effective.

Best - Exeter for me, decent footballing side, came to play some proper soccer with a skilful forward line, can see why their more or less always up around playoffs.

Worst - Probably Walsall, they had a ropey backline in our fixture and have been our easiest three points so far?

0-0 draw but they knocked it around well and really threatened. I think they will be up there at the end of the season. Shame we couldn't hang onto Kane Wilson, I guess FGR are paying him megabucks. He is a very classy player who won't stick around L2 much longer.

Worst Bristol Rovers.
Smashed them 4-1. Absolute dross. They should be a comfortably mid table side but if Barton stays there any longer it's going to be a relegation battle for them.

Kane Wilson is on my short list for FGR Player of Season.
Lets hope he does play League 1 football (with FGR).

But our goalkeeper Luke McGee is now top of my list. He has performed some outstanding saves in recent games.
