The thought of old cement legs Sedgwick rinsing anyone is unbelievable.

Good player for us, made the play-offs in this league three times with him down the right.

Taught Bale an absolute lesson that game... I think he recovered from it though..

Think we got him a few years too late, never seen a winger as slow in my life, can't fault him too much though as he was a Wednesday fan and tried his hardest.

There was a season when I was watching Cardiff when Bothroyd and Taraabt were competing to be the best player in the division. When Cardiff played QPR at the CCS, they both played very well but Taraabt was brilliant.

Some time prior to that, I used to always look forward to playing West Brom when they had Jonathan Greening. He was one of those players who wasn't good enough for the Premier League, but just looked so classy in the Championship. He would control every game from the centre of midfield and would look a significantly better player than everyone else.

Cameron Stewart for Hull City, Carroll for Newcastle, Adam Johnson for Boro or Will Hughes for Derby. Worst was Chimbonda for QPR or Davids for Palace. Liam
Fontaine was shit as well

Aye, was never quick but he was on his last legs when he went to you, always worked his bollocks off but and had a cross on him.

Spit opinions at Deepdale but it was generally complete simpletons who gave him stick, then again, most of our fans are thick as fuck.

Can't remember if it was cup or league, but was some years ago when Cleverly was on loan at Watford. Remember him being the key part of everything they did that night. You then also had Lansbury on loan who got booked for running back onto the pitch when having not been allowed back on by the ref and tackled one of our players on a break away:lol:

Adel Taarabt, I am not surprised to see a few people pick him. He was so bloody good at this level, it seemed unfair for us to have him. He was great, stupidly skillful and won the league for us. Him and Faurlin were immense.

Against us, we have had a few stand out performances.

Dean Ashton for Norwich. He was amazing against us at LR years ago. Bullied us, made us look terrible.
Robert Earnshaw - When we played Cardiff he ran the show and scored 4 goals past us (I think, it was a long time ago now).
Jonjo Shelvey last year was so out of place. We couldn't get close to him. Literally. We didnt tackle him ones or intercept a pass. And scred a worldy past us as well.

I remember seeing Bale as a left back and thinking how good this 17 year old is. Saw Theo Walcott as well and thought he has nothing about him, other than pace.

Dele Alli stood out like a sore thumb in League One despite being 17/18.

You could tell he would make a name for himself at the top level but didn't realise it would be as quick as he did.

What happened to Faurlin in the end?

Regarding Walcott you were 100 percent correct. Never ever rated him

Paul Merson for Pompey when they went up. He played the entire game at half pace, barely got above a jog and completely ran the show. One of only 2 opposition players to receive motm from our supporters club (other being Darren by field). If merson had a more professional attitude he’d have ranked alongside the best this country has produced imo. Genius.

Pure class that day.

Special mentions to James Coppinger, the star player in a pretty special Doncaster side, and Gary Hooper who was nothing short of fucking lethal for Scunthorpe. Anonymous for 89 mins, but only ever needed a sniff -- a quality as rare at that level as pages from the Gutenberg Bible.

He ended up at Getafe. No idea how he is doing. He was a very good player and I was sad to see him go. So good on the ball and looked more at ease in the Premier League, His knees were shot to bits though.

Will Hughes stands out for me, ran the show for Derby back in 13/14 I think it was. Believe he was only 19 at the time

Any time Sako faced us for Wolves really. Or Chopra for Cardiff.

Forgot about Chopra, we had a summer linked with him when Dave Jones was in charge, while he was about 4 years past his best. How times have changed.

Thierry Henry - every time we played against them. Got some absolute batterings from Arsenal down the years.
At this level I'm struggling to think of one. we lost 5-0 at home to WBA in our first season in the division so probably someone in that team. I try to forget the Southgate/Strachan days as best I can.

Best player I think to grace the premiership without a doubt

When Merson was with us in division 1 in 97/98 I think it was he absolutely ran the show, fairly sure he made the England squad for the world cup in 1998 despite playing in a lower division and that was when England had a good squad.

Remember a young Tim Cahill bagging a brace at Deepdale for Millwall in a 2-0 defeat. He was a top player. Both bullet headers if I remember rightly!

De Bruyne probably the best player I've ever watched at a game.

I said to my mates at the away game, if those Man City players worked on their finishing, they'd do alright.

Went to Man City v Sevilla in the Champions League a couple of years ago, I can vouch for that (And I include prem players I witnessed against us, in the late 90's early 00's), he scored an injury time winner as well, I'd watched us play Bury the night before:bg: bit of a contrast. He'd be up there in any era for me, crazy how Chelsea let him go, surely he must have already been world class, if not he had some coach at Wolfsburg.
