Oh it was unbearable. We got a bunch of bananas the other week from Tesco and I think their eggs were on them and also there are trees with berries on just outside my flat and they must have been flying around them too and got into the house. Anyway after a thorough clean, a few traps, a bit of Raid and some incense we are once again flea free. :D

Lol I thought we'd come to the understanding that they are definitely flies. :)

Tyskie is a nice one Monkey - I like Zwiec too, which is similar. To go even stronger Zubr is a nice 6% Polish lager that is surprisingly drinkable.

I've seen that one in Tesco, Stagat - I'll get it next time.

Finally a thread where I won't be shunned for my taste in alcoholic beverages.

I will be purchasing a selection of different beers and lagers for the weekend. In the meantime I have recently had a 1 litre bottle of this given as a gift.

Sorry it's not a picture of my actual bottle but I'm currently at work and bringing bourbon in is frowned upon. (That's what my hipflask is for)

Yeah really love Tyskie that's all we normally drink at the moment. We have plenty of Polish shops around here luckily. Wasn't to keen on Zubar but quite enjoyed Perla. I hated Zewic but they were selling it in cans in a "club" for £3 in London so can't really complain to much I guess. Do enjoy the eastern European beers.

Oh Super Bock is alright too much prefer it to Segres if you're out in Portugal. Sadly only Segres seems to have made its way here.

Going to the pub tonight but I'm planning to stick to Lime and Soda water.

All about the Belgium boys for me. Karmeliet, St Stefanus, various trappist tripels.

So I popped down my local Majestic Wine for a bit of free wine-drinking tonight :box:

And, among all the wine, was this: www.hiverbeers.com/

Lager made with honey. Not as cloying as it sounds. Smells lovely, very crisp and refreshing. Very much a summer thing, I think, but lovely nonetheless.

This week I have also discovered the Co-op Wheat Beer is pretty decent.

It's not my favourite bourbon but I enjoy it. A litre should last a while too.

Have you tried Fighting Cock? That's my favourite bourbon.

I haven't. I have 3/4 a bottle of Wild Turkey left on top of the Jim Beam, but next time I buy a bottle I might give it a look.

Anyone tried this?

:D "Prohibition style" look and looks like a glass of it could make you blind (no disrespect I am sure it's high quality) ;)

A show called 'Moonshiners' about folk brewing moonshine? Who'd have thunk it?
