The Telegraph's investigations team would have been given a tip off he was getting involved in this business before launching their operation which, although dodgy, was the only way of obtaining the story. And given Big Sam is the England boss and the most prominent FA figure there's a clear public interest in it.
According to SSN earlier they were aware of several other managers who had met with the same people about 'keynote speeches' and one had contacted them to say he had been in a similar meeting and walked out the moment it got 'dodgy'.
Doesn't excuse Fat Sam, but they seem to have been trawling their net far and wide on this.
