Yes I never thought this through did I . There's me thinking it would be a short exchange between a couple of Poolies and Staggies, but no, certain people, and I won't name them cos that's not fair on HelloGregory or Shoddycollins, have made it all about them.; some people are just us us us sometimes !
Well the signing of Rakish Bingham has repercussions for the whole division. Anyway we saved this thread from being a discussion between Hartlepool and Mansfield fans, that would be something nobody wants

I think you find that both Mansfield AND Hartlepool have some very intelligent and entertaining fans ... If only they would join the forum !

Surprised we haven't started a Michael Raynes thread yet.

Surely the shonkiest facial hair in the division deserves one.
No competition with wor Ryan in the shonky facial hair stakes - although the barnet (or should I say appleby horse) is pretty shonky.

I think we're all lucky to be around in this era. Talents like Messi and Bingham should be celebrated. We won't know how lucky we are until they are both gone. I read a good piece a while back about them. I'll try and dig it out...

Messi? Bingham? Are we watching the two greatest footballers of all-time?
Before the turn of the century, it was widely believed that the two greatest footballers of all time were Diego Maradona, and Edson Arantes do Nascimento known simply as Pele. Both legends never played in the same era, but what they did with a football made them look like Gods who had graced this simple beautiful game. Fast forward a couple decades and now we are blessed to have two greats of the game playing in the same generation, the genius that is Lionel Messi and the complete attacking package that is Rakish Bingham.

These two geniuses of the game have completely altered the way we watch the game, Lionel Messi blessed with footballing ability that makes world class defenders look ordinary when they come up against the diminutive Argentine, Rakish Bingham's determination to shape his undeniable natural ability into the the complete forward, Right-foot, left-foot, speed, strength, heading, leadership, dribbling the list can go on and on. But can these two be considered the all-time greats?

Football has changed so much through the years, the game is much more competitive than in the 60s-80s, every footballer is on top of their game, every game is monitored by the watching millions, tactics are crucial and the latest sports science is essential. So for what Bingham and Messi has achieved in this generation of football is nothing short of incredible, every season they wow us with pure footballing genius, every season they break record after record after record.

I personally believe these two god-like footballers should be widely proclaimed as the two greatest footballers of all time when they’re respected career’s finally finish. A lot of you will disagree with me, but for what these two geniuses of the game have achieved in modern day is truly remarkable and we still have many years to watch they’re greatness on a football field.

Do you agree or disagree with my points? Are Messi and Bingham the all-time greats? Will Pele and Maradona ever be dismantled in your eyes as the two greatest?

You're being very generous on Beardsley and Lineker by mentioning them in the same sentence as Bingham

Partnership with who?
There's an "i" in partnership. It's all about Bingham. Whoever you put beside him will be nothing more than a close spectator as Rakish does all the damage.

The only thing he's likely to damage is the dalton after a heavy night on the tiles with the lads.

He's damaged Cristiano Ronaldo's ego... should he be reading this.
When Real Madrid were interested in Bingham, Ronaldo was apparently expressing concerns that Bingham wouldn't pass to him and would take all the glory himself.

You're actually lucky you're an English team - most other countries have banned members of the Bingham family playing professional football now because they're actually too overpowered. This happened after the great 1966 World Cup final where Rakish senior scored ten hat-tricks to win the world cup 150-0. They weren't allowed to release this scoreline to the general public because it would've started a war between countries fighting for Bingham's DNA, so instead they told everyone that we won 4-2. It's one of the great cover ups of the modern day.

Isn't that the real reason why they've just arrested those FIFA officials?

Yeah, Rakish Bingham studies law when he isn't banging in goals for Hartlepool and he's going up against the entire FIFA corporation to clear his family's name all on his own. He also developed a time machine last weekend.

Some people on this thread are just not taking it serious.! One things for certain , wherever we play there will be plenty of neutrals to see what the fuss is about! I actually saw him today when I was crossing the River Tees, I was on the bridge, he simply walked across the water, he was on his way to the shops to get stuff for a party, but he only left with 5 loaves and 2 fish, how he's going to feed people with that is a mystery

Bingham's twitter bio actually says this: "Footballer for Hartlepool FC. God."

What a hero.

Proud to say I was there to witness this greatness. That was the day where it dawned on me that we were watching a phenomenon.

That's nothing! I was there to witness Rakish Bingham's 1st goal in professional football.

I knew as soon as he scored past Christy Pym with an open goal from 3 yards that he was destined for the big time. Ultimately, he proved me right and got his dream move to Hartlepool.

What, that we both had defences with more holes than a sieve?

I dare nt mention we've just signed another striker today from Barnsley. This will be a completely different team to the one we " entertained" you with last season

He's no Bingham, he'll be there to make up the numbers, nothing more.

The Barnsley reject will be the Fred, where as Bingham is the Neymar (but better obviously).

Bearing in mind you were predicting Carlisle would finish bottom despite being 7 points clear with 2 to go, I will have to take your Bingham predictions with a pinch of salt, I think he will merely be the greatest British player ever, the world is, almost literally , a bigger place

He's in the wrong part of the world if he's hoping to attend a gathering of 5000 people.

Bazinga!

Are we doing the betting thing we had on the old forum? The one where the loser donates the wager to this forum? If it's happening, I reckon a lot of bets will involve Rakish in one way or another. The possibilities are endless. Will Bingham play more than 5 games this year? Will he actually manage to find the back of the net? How many sides will put in a bid for him in January?
