Nah, that would be Sakho, but Can really is wasted at the back. Hopefully we'll see a central midfield containing both Can and Henderson next season. Their type of players are perfect for a midfield two.

Really? As far as I can recall most have rated him, it's just that Brendan sort of hasn't up until recently. He's far and away our best defender right now.

Skrtel has also looked a lot more solid recently and actually looking like a defender again - something he's been missing for 2 seasons minimum. Can is going to be a heck of a player as well moving forward. Even Mignolet looks better, perhaps its because there is finally a settled back three.

Skrtel is looking better because the central defender of a back three is basically perfect for him. His tendency to drop deep and man mark along with being quite passive in challenges is precisely what you want from your middle central defender.

What we do lack though is a full back in the back three, and we'll want a right back able to play centrally (such as Ivanovic) as it'll help greatly when switching to a back four, rather than falling the trap Juve did with their back three.

Yeah agree with that and something will have to be worked out in the event of switching to a back four again. For the moment though this system is working and we'll see how it goes moving forward.
