but at least whoever goes up will be able to rest knowing that they won’t lose their football league status at the end of the following season. That is always the ultimate fear as long as you’re in this league,
Stay up first season, build from there. That's always the aim of any promoted club, regardless of level.

Only one goal is keeping us out of the top 7 mate, Exeter's GD is +14 and ours is +13. But we do have a game in hand over most clubs in the top 7.

But then again, I don't think the U's fans on here have said anything about promotion? I know I haven't. I'm just glad we're not slugging it out with the bottom six this year is all, and I'm sure you're well acquainted with this looking over your shoulders thing with you being a Carlisle fan.

Happy holidays pal :)

We're not looking over our shoulders, we are on the OFFENCE.

Yeah staying up would be the target. But at least being in League 1 you know that however much you struggle you don’t lose your league status come the end of the season. I’d go into the season a bit relaxed and less stressed knowing that’s not a possibility.

Can anyone top the 13 points we've dropped after scoring the first goal I wonder?
We'll certainly push you, we're not great at holding down narrow leads in tight games. Can think of at least 4 games this season where we've taken the lead - only to end up eventually losing.

Not at GTFC.
Ours is stay up first season, then have a relegation battle every season after that until the inevitable relegation back to the National League.

I'm still in a bit of a mood over throwing away a three goal lead. To Bolton of all teams (not because I think they're shit but because they have a lot of fans who like to give it the barry). Hopefully that anger motivates us to PTTPD

Me too. It’s frustrating because we should be sitting 2nd in the table now.

What do you base that on ?
Think theres three including me who post here, meanderson who is the most negative poster here, and Wullie who has been missing since September. Then theres me who talkes bollox at times but will give a fair reflection on a game /team as long as it goes two ways. The bollox is usually at the same people. Carlisle are this seasons surprise team can they get promoted certainly.
We are 15th in the league and came back away from a team destined to go top from being 3-0 down.
Yet not one well done or bit of credit was afforded on this forum why because we are still seen as the biggest team in this league and the one to beat.
Its great for teams like Orient, Trampmere and Vale to hammer us and have there moment of glory, but the reality is in 5/10 years time we will be two perhaps three divisions higher so i dont begrudge you having your moment of glory.........And long live the ones giving it Barry and talking bollox
Happy Christmas you Bastards

That’s the worry for me, Barrow were very poor, Stevenage were very poor, Kings Lynn were exceptionally poor... yet on the day we’ve barely laid a glove and that doesn’t bode well. Askey is blaming injuries but he signed the back up players today!
to be fair to us we are missing 4 of our 1st choice players;- Mike Jones and Lewis Hardcastle in midfield, Brad Barry at right wing back and James Jones at right centre back. in 2-3 weeks time we should have all them back and striker Courtney Baker Richardson back shortly after that - so we'll be much stronger soon.

I’d like to say Bobby grants sending off changed the game today against Harrogate but I can’t we were second best all over the pitch. Harrogate should of been threee or four up inside the first 10mins it could of and should of been about 6 or 7 to the visitors

Well I gave your team credit, someone here said you were the worst team in the league but I told them you weren't.

I can't take much more of this, we are just not good enough to even compete at this level; and let's be honest the level isn't very high. My club has imploded and I can't see any light at the end of the tunnel apart from the floodlights at Chesterfield and Wrexham, etc, etc.

I don't mean you lot on here, I just mean in general, and all fans will give it the barry... Apart from teams who have no fans like Salford and Harrogate. Bolton have quite a lot of fans whose opinions I have to wade through when on places like twitter and facebook.

Piss off Carlisle. 3-1 up at home to the worst side in the league and you somehow let it all slip away. And what's worse is Evatt's probably in seventh heaven right now.

Carver was right, the wheels fell off the CUFC's promotion wagon.
worst side in the league......yet you could not beat us with Billy the fish in goal

I'll always take a point from the league leaders but we didn't show up until we were down to ten men.

The only good thing about the sending off was that Allarakhia was playing about as good as I could so he wasn't badly missed.

I have doubts about our players being good enough for league football. Our defence drops too deep because they're scared of the ball behind and our central midfield goes missing. The only thing saving us is our forwards can usually turn rubbish possession onto a goal. Today was an exception to that but we need some help in January. The difference between our midfield and Newport's was glaring and painful to see.

Casey
You say our midfield is poor - we have Hessanthaler, Powell, Matthews, Hesketh - probably some of the most gifted players in the midfield we have ever had - yesterday we had a player wrongly sent off in my opinion so we then had to defend against the league leaders for the remainder of the game which we did comfortably even when they had most of the possession- we are unbeaten in 6 matches - with another difficult game next at Forest Green Rovers which we will go again to win -

Alain; Would you say we have a potent strike force at the moment?

Watters, Nichols and Nadesan would get game time in most teams in this division. How many goals have they scored in the last three games? 1

Our defenders are pretty solid (but worried about the full backs but generally). How many clean sheets have we kept? Without checking....none!

If we're having trouble keeping clean sheets and our dangerous strikers are not having chances where would the problem lie?

Ali Maxwell and Clinton Morrison were critical of the defending from both sides in our 3-3 draw.

Pretty exhausting though to be a defender in that wind, I haven't seen a game played in wind like it since we faced Tranmere in our first season down here, every time someone had to take a free kick there was about a minute of trying to get the ball to stay still while Paul Farman who can normally kick the ball into the attacking third was struggling to get it over the halfway line.

Our Strike force is always potent - teams go through times when its just not clicking - the final pass is just not there but will return - hopefully in the next game - our defence is as good as its ever been, yes we have conceded some stupid goals that should have been defended better - if you haven't watched the latest "talk of the town" with John Yems then I suggest you do - you may then get some answers to some of your comments made.
