Just heard this when I was watching the rugby. Fair play FSG, they aren't hanging around on this. Lets hope they are as decisive in getting someone to gel this team together that is capable of competing.

He'll find another Prem club pretty soon I reckon. Not worried for Rodgers.

I do hope the Liverpool board have a guy to step in asap as the timing is poor.

I'm worried for Rodgers. You saw what he did to his teeth when he came into a bit of money. He's going to look like Michael Jackson by next week with the size of the payoff he'll be getting.

They've got to go all out for Klopp, it's an ideal fit. I get the feeling they'll opt for Ancelotti though (and probably get knocked back).

He's a terrible manager and a massive bellend but why are Liverpool sacking him 8 games into the new season? Liverpool have been shite but 6 points from 1st place isn't the end of the world after 8 games. It's been coming for a long time but I just don't get why they've decided to do it now when they either should have done it in the summer or given him until January.

Absolutely, try for him at all costs. It'll be a tough get, but if he can get what he wants and isn't hampered by a transfer committee, then we'll see. fingers crossed.

Klopp would be a dream. Ancelotti still a great choice. De Boer risky.

Ancelotti wouldn't even entertain joining Liverpool - why would he?

Klopp and De Boer are both realistic though.

Btw good luck to Rodgers, a decent manager but in the end hasn't shown enough to warrant staying with the club, nor what it takes to make Liverpool a challenging side consistently. He'll still be a Premier League manager and will do good things with whoever he ends up with and I wish him well.

Just basing it on the reports it was Ancelotti who contacted Liverpool first.

I don't think Ancelotti would be a good fit anyway, he is a fantastic manager for sides that are nearly complete and who can challenge on all fronts. Liverpool are miles off of that currently.

He did make us play some of the best football in Premier league during Suarez period.

Yeah and if he managed to keep a hold of that side and was able to bring in some top talent to back them up then things may have been rosy. It wasn't to be and some things did work against him; but he really should have had the side singing again by now as I still think there is a fine squad there that can compete. He was in the end putting square pegs in round holes and nobody knew how they were to play which made it all disjointed. An ad hoc approach just doesn't work.

51.6 - Brendan Rodgers has the second best win percentage of any PL manager for Liverpool (after Benitez, 55.3%).

Reckon you'll get De Boer which might mean an influx of Eredivisie players to Liverpool.
You won't be getting any Dortmund players if Klopp joins.

I think Rodgers will probably have to go abroad for his next job. Seems to be what happens when managers get a big job here and are shown up to be completely out of their depth (McClaren, Moyes).

It'll be Klopp, but Paul Jewell is available. Perfect fit, with him being a Liverpudlian.

Am I the only one thinking Liverpool fans are being a bit deluded in the hope of getting Ancelotti or Klopp? These guys will have better offers on the table soon enough so would they really take on Liverpool given they'll have little hope of getting the players they want in during the January window?

We can but dream! :D

They have to really convince them, but I don't think its absolutely impossible for one of them to bite.

So the Rodgers era has to go down as a failure. What a shame. Would be funny if they get de Boer after the hype of Klopp and Ancelotti. But if they do end up with either of those two you have to start taking Liverpool seriously.

Who was the last Liverpool manager (bar Hodgson, who got about 20 minutes) not to win a trophy?
