August yea, what year is the biggest question :ffs:.

Nah apparently definitely should be completed by the start of the new season.

Awesome.

Back row of block S24 next season for me - hope I'm allowed to stand..

I'm sure it won't be, but if the football isn't great, your view always will be ;)

Sat looking down on a new, 2 million, state of the art desso pitch - in the luxury of a brand new stand with fantastic facilities and full to the brim every week with City fans, with arguably the most famous bridge in the UK in the background.

The only thing that can go wrong is the football!

I'm feeling all nostalgic Scrumpy, could do repost the picture with a dirty great red post in the way for us old 'uns?
It's certainly going to be nice in 12 months with 27,000 unobstructed view seats and no bloody posts.
Much as we loved the old east end, this makes you realise just how antiquated it was.

Will look even better with the bridge lit up at night, can't be many grounds to have such an iconic view!

I can't really say I notice the view at a football ground, apart from of the pitch.

The only place I can think is Newcastle, see the whole fucking city from up there.

Same here TBH Tom but I would imagine the view from the top of our soon to be started West stand would be pretty good!
Out of interest, can we shift this thread upstairs when our respective teams leave this forum?

You really are up in the clouds at Newcastle - it's scarily high

One confusion - why is it named the South Stand?

Has direction changed since the East End was built?!

What changed it from East to South?

I was so bloody knackered walking up all those bloody stairs, I had to stop for a fag half way up!

It could do with escalators like Wembley has

I believe that end of the ground is actually the South east end of the stadium. Why the club felt the need to change the name is beyond me though!

A quick google search ;)

It's a beauty!

Guess the 'South Stand' is prelude to either a sponsor or a permanent name yet to be decided. Wonder if Wedlock will be incorporated somewhere into the new stand - a bar or something.

It was going so well until the full to the brim with City fans comment! ;)

Balls I forgot AG was still drastically reduced in capacity next season (isn't it?). Carry on, nothing to see here! :)
Whoops!
We're back up to 16,000 / 16,500 next season but due to away support and POTD tickets, we're limited to 12,500 season tickets.

Have to say as an outsider, it's great to see a club that looks as though it's going places because Bristol deserves a top class football team. Glad I got to visit the old away end last season, but the renovated stadium looks fantastic.

Good luck chaps.

Seating rails went in yesterday along with 1 seat. Just 6,500 to go then..

Today's the dodgy day when the 100 ton roof support is hoisted to the top of the Dolman stand. It's a delicate operation and it doesn't help that it's pissing down in Bristol. It's on the left hand side of this pic.

It'll be nice to see the difference on Saturday.

1. Seats in the new stand, starting to look even more proper.

2. A unobstructed view of the pitch from my seat in the Dolman.
