Studs aren't up, feet aren't off the ground so minimal risk of injuring their player, just late and takes him out.

That clip's not very helpful though cos it cuts the bit where he jumped in, which doesn't make it look so bad. I'll wait til I see it on 5 tonight.

QPR looked so bereft of confidence. There was one moment where we lost it with 4 men committed forward and the quick break looked on, 3 rangers players just looked at each other and Smith came and nicked it back, it was laughable

You're not wrong, but we are a tad biased. A poor tackle certainly but one of those that you would have differing views of depending which side you're on.
FWIW, I thought QPR were a very poor side.

I think it's a similar one to the red Wolves got against us.
In both cases a red is harsh, but a case can be made.

However, the angle of the tackle (Bakers being side on, Batths being head on) makes one far more dangerous than the other.

Danny Batth's red card was a joke, but under modern football rules it's a red card offence all day long. The problem is most of us are brought up in a time where challenges like this were punished with a yellow at best and were even considered acceptable. However the rulebook has changed over the last few years and it feels hard to adapt to some of these so called red card offenses (basically anything where you show your studs).

Just catching up with the highlights this eve.. even in real time it doesn’t look a red to me, and Scowen is a cheating little fanny.. should be banned for the theatrics that followed the challenges, just like bailey was.
