Wow what a night. The reason we all love football so much. Didn't someone say back in the thread that Swindon were the better side? Well if losing 3-0, giving away three stonewall penalties, and should of had two players sent off makes you the better team, crack on! First half they had a couple of clear chances, the rest long distance, and second half for all the possession created nothing of note! If you can't put the more in the next does that make you a good side? Not a team I'd like to face in the play offs mind you (not that we have to worry about that :))

Hope we enquire about Byrne for next season. Exactly the player we need to strengthen our first 11!

A missing report needs to be drawn up for Dan. Getting slight concerned now.......wibble wobble!

Firstly, I would hardly say that because Branco did his best WWE makes us a team of thugs? I wouldn't even merit Branco as a football thug, he's just shit. (Although if I'm to be kind to him, he was left exposed by Byrne a number of times)
It was a decent game of football, three stonewall pens that were missed for City, we hit the post, great save by your keeper in the first half, 3-2 would have been a fairer reflection I think. What was good to see was that there weren't a great deal of theatrics from either side.
Has anyone got any links for the pens, I have a colleague who was at the game and is adamant that they weren't pens and that Flint gave as good as he got!haha
Also, it would have been interesting to see how the game played out if Branco had been sent off.

I watched about half an hour of the game and Bristol City didn't get out of their own half.

Sky has about 6 mins of highlights of you can find it. You raise a good point about Byrne.. He looked dangerous attacking, but he didn't seem to be defending atall?!

To be honest Bryan had the beating of Byrne from start to finish. I was more worried about Gladwin who was causing Ayling and Tavernier a shit load of problems first half

As Lee Johnson described it, first one was UFC, second was a bit of NFL, and the third one was WWF finishing off with a clothesline.

Some of the tweets aimed at Flint after the game are innexcusable

'I hope your mum and dad die a slow and painful death you lanky f**king C*nt'

'I would have no hesitation in shooting Aden Flint the f*cking C*nt'

And the abuse he was taking from Swindon fans they expect him to say he wants them to get promoted?

Just to confirm - what were the Swindon fans singing to Flint when he made that comment?

Also - my knee is ever so sore this morning, after being pushed over about 2 rows celebrating the 3rd goal last night, and then sending another bloke flying from my fall - not that I felt it at the time!:woot:

He won't be expected to be liked after leaving for a rival and we won't expect him to like us considering the treatment he gets. No love lost either way.

Fans being abusive on Twitter is hardly a new phenomenon either. It's shocking but players leave themselves vulnerable to it by being so easily accessible.

And yes I do condemn the idiots who wish ill health on any player or their families.

Clinical finishing from City was the difference.

Swindon created more chances (based on the match stats twice the number of shots at goal, and twice as many on target) but it means fuck all if you can't put it in the net.

No idea what Branco was doing, and had the ref saw the incident early on would surely have been sent off & a penalty awarded.
There was also another clear penalty in the second half, but I have a feeling that Flint got a bit frustrated with the ref not spotting Branco's indiscretions and was going to ground a bit too easily.

As for what Flint said after the game, any Town fan who complains is as equally stupid as the City fans who wanted to call the police after the game at Swindon. Although not there I'm sure he got dogs abuse from the Town fans and if you give it out you've got to take it the other way.

Will be interesting to see how City fair in the Championship this time around, their obvious financial advantage in this division won't be there next season, what with so many teams in the championship having the ludicrous Premier League parachute payments to prop them up.

I hope that we get to play City next season, although I'm not sure that we have the team to win the play-offs. Teams that do that either score bags full of goals and/or can keep them out at the other end, neither of which describes us at the moment.

Also means fuck all when 90% of those 'chances' were hopeful shots from the edge of the box

That's the other thing, our 'financial advantage'. Yes the potential is there but Swindon fans appear to ignore the fact that our deals involving a fee were all covered by the money we received from selling Baldock, as for wages Baldock, Fontaine, Pearson, Marvin Elliott and Carey all left the club last season, all players who would have been on championship wages, the fact we have drastically reduced our wages since coming down also doesn't have anything to do with it ether..... We definitely don't have the highest wage bill in the league, Preston and Sheffield Utd will at least be above us, and for Swindon fans calling Flint a money grabbing (insert word here), Swindon fans claim their budget should see them finish just outside the relegation zone most the time and that we should be at the top of the league, seems a wise move career wise....

Hopefully this can just be put to bed soon, we didn't have to play Swindon for several years last time we were promoted, can hopefully be the same again.

What are you on about?

Was Bryan's not a "hopeful shot from the edge of the box?"

Um no because it went in the top corner? it was also guided in, not a hit an hope! Are you seriously comparing that to a shot From outside the area that dribbles through to Fielding. Its pretty obvious that was what he was insuating. Swindon had lots of shots on targets, many that didn't really test our GK!

Pretty sure while he was being interviewed by Sky it was 'Aden youre a c*unt, Aden Aden you're a c*nt' and I'm sure he'll have been aware of most the abuse he has received.

To be fair theres a difference in how they were hopeful, Bryan attempted to place his shot, while hopeful because of the distance there was intent, the Swindon players chose power more often than not which saw their shots go flying over generally.
