I'm all for boycotting the B team games, but what's wrong with supporting your side against another first team? Having a big disparity in crowds against first teams compared to B teams is the best way fans can display our feelings

I can understand fans who are against it and they have every right to stay away.

Strangely some of the people I know state this very argument, stay away then watch it on TV.
There's now't as strange as folk. (of course they are basically just tight arses)

I went to watch against Mansfield and it was a decent watch, and I'll go when we play Newcastle's U21s in October.
I like to see what these Premier team kids can do and it lets our management look at possible loans for the Jan window.

So long as they don't get to the final, there's not much harm done and TBF they don't usually progress too far when they play against some gnarly old pros who have absolutely no intention of being embarrassed by a load of young kids.

Interesting. I'm still boycotting the whole lot, because it is a competition which includes B Teams. One day one of them is going to get to the final and deny a club a game at Wembley, then we will see people's true colours.
I will spend a bit more at the club on Saturday to make up.for the fact I'm not going on Tuesday week.

Home to Chesterfield for us tomorrow.

No game on Saturday so it might influence our selection slightly but we've got a few that we need to get some minutes into - Hamer, Montsma, McKiernan, Cadamarteri, Street, Earley and Ring.

As, technically, the best team in the competition, nothing less than complete victory is acceptable.

We're too cool for school for this load of old shit. We'll be putting the kids in as much as we can without being fined.

Shocking. What would Danny Bergara think?

Plus there's no game this weekend, maybe a few kids but should be a much stronger side than the one that got spanked by Blackburn.

Swindon at home.
This time last year we lost 9-0 to Reading.
Given that we have just avenged a 7-0 we might actually get a win tomorrow.

Walsall at home, played them pre season and they were a tidy outfit.

Davies has come out and said Stansfield and Iwata the lad we got from Celtic will both start. Some would say we would go for a weakened team but we arent able to weaken the XI even if we tried.

I reckon Allsop for BPF, plus Khela for Laird at RB

I presume you haven’t got a game Saturday but that’s still way to risky starting some of those.

Given our injury record, getting out of bed in the morning is a big risk

Also several are coming back from injuries and need the minutes

Lincoln need booting out this competition for letting Paul Cooks son actually score against them. Fully on banter era

Good run out for our boys, played a lot if kids and debuted another 15 year old.

I see the u21 sides all did well tonight, fingers crossed that four get to the semis and put the nail in the coffin for this format.

Lost to Arsenals U21s, they punished us for two shocking individual errors on transitions and Dan Agyei then missed a penalty in the last minute and Jamie Donley missed an open goal for us.

We're so low on confidence right now its frightening, never been so pleased not to play this weekend.

Fans should be boycotting this, a competition with B teams in is still just that, regardless of whether you're playing some gerrymandered local fixture against an actual club or Brentford's B team.

Fortunately for us, at least Jack Stevens got the memo about this competition...

We're constantly told that they've about 18 players on end-of-life care at the moment yet can still field a side as strong as that in this poor man's Setanta Shield.

Watched parts of the Birmingham game yesterday and May really struggled. Flicked between playing on the RW and in the 10 to accommodate Stansfield and was poor. Gonna be interesting to see how his place in the team progresses now.

You'd think a £20m price tag ultimately gets you in the first team, but when you're late to the party and someone already in the side is scoring, then the gaffer shouldn't accommodate the £20m machine. Let the buggar work hard to get in the side. Alfie May might regret going to Birmingham if he wants to be the main man for a team who scores goals.

Alfie May is the main striker, Stanno will play in the 10 or out wide. Fk knows what Davies was thinking not doing that last night.

8 changes to a team that hasn't gelled yet was never going to run smoothly. it is a competition i am not personally arsed with, but 82 percent possession and 26 shots and 14 corners doesn't mean a lot if you cannot put teams away.

it was always going to take some time to click, the fact we arent losing whilst trying to gel is a positive.

To reiterate Stansfield should not play as the main striker, May should play through the middle.

Aside from the three returning from injury, it was largely the same side that played at Mansfield... also, quick reminder that we've still got room in our squad limit, didn't have to get rid of players like our decadent fellow promotees...

It doesn’t add up, especially considering they brought on a #9 on Saturday to actually play as a striker.

Stockport County.
Bate, Fiorini, Mingi, Mellon, Connolly, Hughes, and Rydel should be back after or not long after the international break. Don't think Adaramola or Southam-Hales will be too far behind.

It will be a timely boost because fixtures really seem to start going Tuesday Saturday more often as we go into October.

We will pick up more injuries as all teams will during this period so the squad will be needed.

Did you go? I thought they were a half decent side when we played them in pre-season, certainly not the U18 feel you can sometimes get from a PL U21 side.

Lost 1-0 to Chesterfield on Tuesday night, we made more changes than I thought we would with only O'Connor and Erhahon (60 minutes) from the first XI playing.

Like the Harrogate game, I don't think anyone really pushed their name forward to be starting against Posh next weekend.

Yes, they had talent and the guy who scored their winning goal was very, very quick and a big reason they scored two goals and forced two mistakes with his pace. The player they had playing as a number 10 was also very good for 60mins I thought before being subbed.

But they were weak at set plays and let us have the ball most of the time, relying on counter attacks and transition with their obvious pace, towards the end they shit themselves quite badly I thought and another side with a bit more confidence would've at least got a draw.

Salford at home on Tuesday. What is the rules, is it something like 5 or 6 players named in the previous league game that has to be in the squad for the trophy?

If so, I can see all our subs playing and a couple of kids too.
