I lived in Leeds for a while and it's not bad, nice urban-rural mix, good nightlife and resteraunts and shopping, three good universities etc

Not sure we have the same classifications of 'good'.

indeed not mine as i live in the 11th best city in the country u inbred northern ape

So you live in less of a shithole, but it's not exactly first is it?

I voted Liverpool over York (Lolz). Though not without foibles (as we say), both historical and contemporary, Liverpool is a _city_, and unashamed of it. The centre is dramatic and bold, one of the few (three or four?) slices of modern urban fabric in the UK that stands comparison with peers in places like the US and Germany. Which perhaps goes some way to explaining why the bien pensant jamokes beholden to the architectural school of Charles Windsor that fill this wretched island prefer to venerate heritage and stag do theme parks such as York instead.

Lancaster just moved above Ely to top my choices - based on the live music on offer in the pubs and bars (Reggie Mental brass section delivering Two Tone classics and more was a highlight) and despite the questionable quality of football available in (relatively) near proximity.

C&B Opinion: It's a city? Who knew.

Description: Another Yorkshire city, there's hundreds of them! It's thought the name is derived from "Waca's Field". Who Waca was, no one knows but it sounds like a nickname for a footballer. Vehicle theft is about 50% above the national average, which is strange seeing as people still use horse and cart here.

Famous People: Geoffrey Boycott, Helen Worth

C&B Fact: There's a museum of mental health in Wakefield...sounds great!
I may be moving this way. Anyone have any comment on what it's like as a place to live? Any nice villages close by?

Using my own words against me. You've sunk very low today Steven, very low indeed.

Two of my house mates are from Wakefield. Based on what they're like, all I can say is beware...
