T.A. I didn’t need reminding of the ridiculously high level of nerves that day. As soon as as one of the goals me and dozens of others just went down the stairs to under the stand to watch the scores elsewhere cos what was happening on the meadow lane turf didn’t matter.

Others things noted from those highlights:

His cool was the finish for Bury’s second?
Never seen that many Bury away supporters as on that day!
Was that Kasper in goal for you?
Fully remember getting the penalty, scoring it and the wild scenes afterwards but not our first goal. Who scored it anyone know?

Yes, it was Kasper, doing us a bit of a favour with a rash challenge on Chris Palmer. Calmness personified by Baudet in stroking home the pen.

Dan Martin scored our first.

IIRC we were never actually in the bottom 2 - but at 0-2 down with 4 mins to play, a goal for Oxford, who were drawing 2-2 at home with Orient, would have plunged us into the drop zone with just moments of the season left.

It was the days before Twitter etc so like Enzo and thinking our game was done, I was underneath the stand watching soccer Saturday on the bar TVs, sprinting back up when we made it 1-2.

As it was we equalised then Orient scored an injury time winner at Oxford to ultimately render our result meaningless - but it was definitely squeaky bum time for a while.

Not ashamed to say I was one of those who bounced onto the pitch when the equaliser went in :D

At the end the Notts fans went over to the Bury supporters for a mass singalong of ‘we are staying up’

Would have been 16 at the time. One of the most nervous weeks beforehand. Although looking back we needed about 4/5 teams to win for us to go down so was probably being a bit dramatic but in football you just never know until you are safe.

Yes I never really felt Bury were in real danger, to be honest I didn’t think we were going to drop as both Oxford and Stockport had to win (or draw in Stockports case) and we had to lose. But it looked like our worst fears might be realised for a large part of the 2nd half. Thank f**k for Julien Baudet and Lee Steele, who scored Orient’s winner!

We were actually top at one point in that season too (Sept) and still 8th in Jan!

I must have mistook this for another season, I was sure we were in the bottom 2 for a good 15 minutes at one point.
Memory going I think!

Ooooooooo that’s a little bit too an attacking lineup for away from home at a higher placed side. Can’t see this one being a draw !

Getting exactly what we deserve for a batshit team selection, five forwards on the pitch at the same time for fucks sake.

We were so bad for most of that 2-2 it felt like we deserved to go down.

So pretty similar to today then.

Soft penalty for our third, in my opinion.

Notts County fair penalty shout turned down, Boldewijn falls under pressure, he was going away from goal though which may have gone against him.

83’ on the clock. Notts fans heading for the exit after Stead falls over the ball and it rolls out for a GK.

And that’s 4-0! Nicky Adams with far too much time on the ball, releases a lovely shot curling shot in off the post

4-0 FT, honestly could have been 8. Complete nothing performance from Notts County.

I hope you don’t bet UTS?

Probably would of lost anyway but that attacking lineup gamble failed miserably.

I had Bury to win and BTTS, plus over 2.5 goals . So one win, one loss. 4-1 would of done but sounds like we were lucky to get 0 lol

Oh Harry you're really not going to last long as a manager.

:ohm: I’ve never heard that from a defeated manager before!!!! This is going to make the national sports headlines. I fear about the backlash that is bound to come

Manager of team that lost 4-0 is going to highlight his own players poor performance rather than praise the opposition.

I really do hope this sort of post game response doesn’t catch on in managerial circles :ffs:

Nothing to see here

Our game was made much easier by them being awful but why does that stop us being ‘great’ I’d hate to see what score we’d win by if we’d did play ‘great’

Shouldn't have sacked Nolan is all, I'm sure he would've turned this mess around if he was given more time #pathetic

I don’t drink coffee. I’m assuming it’s not reached Bury yet. Check the national papers tomorrow should be at least back page news

Time to drink beer in Dalston
We’re not that arsed about Kewel’s comments, why would we be when we’ve just won 4-0?

I’ll take being average if it gets results like today.

Is the correct answer UTS , why would you be indeed?

Yeah tbh I’m not sure where I got that idea from other than the posts immediately after the game and the BBC Nottingham Sports quote.

What formation were we supposedly playing today, Notts fans who were there?

Thought Bury were really good, easily the best team we’ve played. Aided and abetted by an embarrassing team selection and then predictable performance from Notts, though.
