Giant killing tonight for us, nice to see Grigg and Dobson on the scoresheet. But a much changed Burnley looked poor against a much changed Sunderland.

A lovely trip to Bramall Lane the reward.

Portsmouth v Southampton bloody hell

Wahey!! Never seen us play a top team away from home.

Dont think we'll get embarrassed at all.

In other news, Lincoln looked really good tonight. Good to see lower league teams having a right go against Prem teams.

Yeah, I think Everton’s starting 11 or squad from tonight was something around the £300 million mark so we didn’t do bad and certainly gave them a game.

Lincoln played very well, that goal from Andrade was a beauty, Premier League class came through in the end, especially from Digne.

Pleased with the performance last night all things considered.

Everton went a little stronger than I thought they would, although their U23's played Tuesday night so that probably had an impact.

Considering we made the changes we did and took Bostwick, Eardley, Grant and Walker out the side, then withdrew Shackell, Payne and Morrell in pre-planned subs and ended up with a RB in CM, then I think we had enough about us to give them a good game in the end.

Would've been interesting to see it pan out if we went full strength but that little bit extra in the final third was the difference.

@Lincoln fans, have been pronouncing Andrade incorrectly or is the Sky commentator getting it wrong?
We've always pronounced it Andrard-eh, rightly or wrongly!

I'll call him whatever he wants after that goal last night. What a rocket.

Quality draw for us with Liverpool at home. The boost we needed to bring in a quality player or two before the end of the window hopefully.

That'll bring all the armchair premier league supporters out. What's the betting there's more Liverpool shirts in the home end than MK shirts. :ffs:

Ah well, a full stadium and a good wedge of money whatever happens.

Yeah, that's how I say it. The commentator was calling him "Andrad". But yeah, great goal for him. Someone might finally give you a million for him now!

A proper South Coast Derby. These are generally a rare animal as we're not usually in the same division, historically. The rarity factor always heightens the tension and animosity. This is the first time we've drawn them at home in a cup since 1984!

One thing's for sure - neither manager will be allowed to play anything but their strongest team.

I very much doubt Hampshire Constabulary were too pleased with the draw.....

I'm sure they've called him that before when we were on sky last season, very strange as our local media call him Andrad-eh too.
Quest were very complimentary about both goals.
Great night and some handy cash in the bank just before the transfer window.

Don't think I remember watching you on Sky last season now that I think of it.

I watched the first half last night and thought you were decent. As soon as Payne was onto that loose ball it looked like danger in that very first move. Defended really well and only went in level due to an unstoppable free kick. Wish I'd watched the second half as well now.

The ripples and then shouts and cheers that went through Bond Street after the news came through that we’d drawn the Scum last night were absolutely glorious. Bring it on! We have nothing to lose.

We've got West Ham at home and generally the Millwall fans aren't happy at missing out on their rivals.

Bury and Mansfield away last season.

Well that was an easy win! Absolutely tore them apart in the 2nd half and could have been more than 4-0. West Ham can't blame making changes as an excuse either (they aren't tbf from what I've seen) as we made a load of changes as well.

But Sunderland at home in the next round. Nice that it is at home but Sunderland, like us I bet they aren't particularly enamoured with the tie either.

That was some result for Oxford, was hardly that much of a weakened West Ham side either. Going from beating Manchester United to being hammered at Oxford in the space of 3 days, I love football. Good wins for Sunderland and Burton as well although I actually fancied Burton to win anyway considering how serious Clough takes the cup competitions, good to see. Top effort from Rochdale as well shame they couldn't win the shootout.

Tuesday night was fun as a neutral in Pompey :animatedf:

Fair play to Pompey though, big, big turn out, the pubs were rammed.

Didn't really see much trouble in the walk from the station to the Stadium, so much for intimidating Fratton Park. Just a load of fans with their phones out shouting Scummers at us.

They had a go inside the first 15 or so minutes which was to be expected but it was comfortable after we scored our first. Good to see they still sing about the myth of sending us down in 05.

Hopefully draw them at St. Mary's in the FA Cup and thrash them again.

So near and yet so far. Bloody good fun though, especially barracking that complete melt Pogba. And if any L1 club gets offered Chong on loan, for God’s sake don't!

Well played Burton, Sunderland and particularly Oxford on getting through.

Wycombe on Saturday - I don’t think we'll get away with a 5'8" emergency centre back marking Big Bayo...

With half the police force from Hampshire (and.. Kent??) seemingly deployed for the game what were you expecting, mass brawls?

You were no doubt far the better side and clinical on the break, but I think you’d be hard pushed to find anyone in Pompey that was realistically expecting anything other than what we saw. I’m just personally glad I got to see the sight of your 2000 silently looking on, decidedly nervous and twitchy, at around 15 mins in when if we’d been clinical we’d have been 2-0 up. Not to be though.

Regardless of all that though, the atmosphere on Tuesday was crackling, I haven’t left a ground with my ears ringing for a long time. I’d happily have the derby twice a season again (if there’s less of a chasm between the two) if it meant we get an event like that each time.

Didn't stop a police horse being attacked it seems.

Must be quite a bit of pressure on Jackett now ?

I really enjoyed Tuesday night, and must say a big thank you to the scummers for doing us a massive favour and stopping us getting absolutely battered at Man City.

It's nice to know that singing about relegating you in '05 still really grates. Being positioned close to your lot, watching the explosion of anger as 'sha-la-la...' rang out really put a smile on my face.

Clearly outclassed by a far superior team as to be expected. Our lads gave it their all, and the crowd responded and backed them until the last minute.

As much as i love a derby, it always feels one sided, and i think about what it must be like having a rival who equals the same passion in the stands. Every time i've been to one, the scummers only seem interested in gloating providing they're winning, otherwise sit there barely making a sound (the first 20 minutes was embarrassing considering the so called hate between the clubs). As it was, the gloating from your first goal to fourth was barely audible from the racket being made in the home stands.

Shame on the fucking idiot for slapping the police horse. He'll have 6 months to think about it soon.

Let's hope there's not such a long time between matches next time, although judging on our current form, it could be double before we meet in a league game again!

Headline - Liverpool face threat of Carabao Cup expulsion as EFL investigates third-round win. It seems Pedro Chirivella might not have the correct clearance.

Please kick them out and give us the Arsenal tie. The money would be most welcome :woo:.

I know it won't happen, just wishful thinking.

Every chance they’ll be kicked out if they did, the same happened to West Ham when they brought a sub on who had already played in the competition for us on loan.

They’ll argue that Sunderland only got a fine when they did the same, also against us.

Either a replay or putting us through against Arsenal at home will do me... :£

I thought they just had to replay the game against Villa or am I thinking of another example?

Liverpool probably won't care if they are kicked out!

Different cup but we're kicked out of the FA cup for not sending the right document to the FA for a loan player. Of course this is a top 6 club so they will give minimum punishment and sweep it under the carpet.

Yep no doubt the TV companies will put pressure on as well, those viewing figures for Liverpool games.
