My half time summary is pretty much that for my full time one. Played reasonably ok, not much between the sides but we’re just not good enough to hurt the teams above us which is why we haven’t got anywhere close to being a top 7 team this season. Such a lack of quality and creativity at the top of the pitch which needs addressed in the summer as a top priority. As soon as Lincoln got their noses in front it was pretty much a certainty that it was done.

As for the pen, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a situation where a ref gives a decision, then the player places the ball ready to take it only for the ref to change his mind. I’ve no idea whether it was or wasn’t a pen, but how the linesman can overrule the ref when he’s about twice the distance away is baffling.

The lincoln players sexually harassing the referee all match probably didn’t help. He probably just wanted his nightmare to end.

It was a bit worse that that though, there's gamesmanship that all teams are guilty of, a bit of timewasting here and there, the occasional dive, or going down a bit easy, we do it too and it's nothing to be proud of and then there's what went on today, which was barely even football, Lincoln have very little quality about them, just strength and speed and the ability to intimidate the referee. I'm surprised the referee managed to see any of the game through the crowd of Lincoln players that followed him around all game telling him what to do.

I thought lincoln were a decent league 2 side. They came here, did a job, got their noses in front and defended well knowing how powder puff we are in attack. They knew their job was 95% done once they went 1-0 up.

They managed the game well. Yes their players were molesting the referee, but if he wants to take action their DNA will be all over his kit, in his shorts etc.

That’s still no excuse for our woeful attacking threat.

Not sure myself, it was a blatantly deliberate handball and the referee saw it right away and pointed to the spot. We all thought the long discussion he had after that was over whether to show the red card, absolutely astounded when he decided it was a Lincoln free kick instead but it wasn't really a conversation between the referee and the linesman, it was a conversation between the referee, the linesman and all eleven Lincoln players, so of course he was going to see it their way just like he did all game. They linesman seemed to be indicating it wasn't a deliberate handball which I don't follow as it doesn't have to be deliberate to give a penalty, careless will do it and that arm was waving around in a place it had no place being.

It wasn't even that Lincoln were good at diving a-la Danny Hylton either, it was how easily they got away with it that indicated they had the referee in their back pockets, they didn't even have to make it look especially like a foul, all they had to do was fall over somewhere relatively close to a Carlisle player and a foul would be given. Don't know about Mike Jones' second yellow, that was probably a foul as we'd started to lose discipline by that point but his first was an absolute joke, if this is how Lincoln have managed to achieve all the success they have over the last two seasons then they deserve no plaudits for it whatsoever they're just a latter day Boston United, a horrible team who have managed to pull the wool over everyone's eyes for a while but will eventually end up back where they belong.

As I say I had no idea whether it was a pen, but I’ve seen this on twitter and if this is the incident, then it’s the correct decision eventually. Still a bit of a shambolic situation though to allow our player to place the ball on the spot before changing his mind.

Frustrating game, thought the referee and both linesmen were inept throughout. The first half was pretty enjoyable, shame we conceded late on once again, shocking goal to concede though considering they scored exactly the same routine on Friday.

I thought Bennett was gonna equalise midway through the second half, the miss was absolutely comical/criminal. I wasn’t sure about the penalty, gutted the decision was reversed either way. That Stockton is utterly, utterly shambolic. He doesn’t look interested at all and has no ability.

Lincoln were effective but incredibly annoying as an opposition fan, the softest touches resulted in fouls.

Everyone our end said it was a handball by a Carlisle player (as the above photo suggests). Not ideal giving a penalty first of all, but the correct decision reached so we can forget about that one as an excuse.

By all accounts, today's game went as they did away from home around this time last season when we had a switch in approach. Be horrible, don't concede and try and win it 1-0.

It's a good effort by Carlisle to concede from a set piece we've run 4 times in the last 2 games, mind. Either the players forgot what Curle told them or he didn't tell them at all.
