I think it has always been like that. Every 3/4 years there are set number of same teams that usually reach further into the tournament. However, no one has won CL twice in a row. It won't change this year either. Even if Madrid go past Juve, I don't think they are good enough to beat Barca or Bayern.Don't you find the CL is getting too samey now with practically the same sides in the QF/SF's each year? That's what annoys me about it, though tbf the semi's the last few years and yesterday's one, were of very high quality. Mind you Chelsea isn't there which may have something to do with it!
