Injured in pre season, injured on England duty... He might have played more games for Villa, but I doubt 'oh, I bet I'll fuck my hamstring if I join City' crossed his mind.

To a degree, though when you gift a goal to the opposition in that manner, you can't help but think it's a victory thrown away in many respects.

Not really. A draw was a good result regardless. Losing it in the 90th minute like that perhaps, but over all it was a good result. That they didn't fall apart after that is something of an achievement this season. Or indeed after the second.
