I don't like Celtic at all, but I'd rather see them go into the group stages than Malmo. They are capable of putting on some great nights of European football as they showed against Barcelona.

I'm the same I cant stand them nor Rangers, but it would be good to see some Scottish representation in the CL once again, as you correctly say, they are capable of upsets and Deila has them playing well now.

Unfortunately the co-commentator here is Danny fucking Higginbotham, who represented Man Utd a small handful of times and pontificates as if he won the lot.

Watching Monaco shteve.

Valencia got a goal very early on from terrible marking by Monaco who are playing a CB at RB, a RB in central midfield and Bernardo Silva on the wing. Been a quite even game though. Subasic didn't have a save to make after the goal while Ryan had to make a decent touch to push Silva's shot onto the post.
It's not a bad performance by Monaco considering the absentees (Kurzawa and Moutinho).

Monaco's makeshift defence has really cost them today, they've been a mess at times.

Shame really as Monaco were the better team in the second half. Martial was brill to set up the Pasalic goal (who didn't do much apart from scoring and having a header paried away by Ryan, then again playing second striker is hard as fuck these days) but Valencia scored their second completely against the run of play. Also, Monaco should have had a penalty.

Reckon 2-2 would have been a fairer result but ah well, not over and all that. But I'm skeptical. Valencia are having their league opener this weekend and look like they can score a goal or two on the break. Can't see Monaco scoring 4 somehow.

By the first leg games Lazio vs Leverkusen was the most balanced match of league route, consequently, it's the second leg confront I'm more curious about. Regard exceptions that may occur.

Hopefully they do, the CL tires them out, and the Gorgie Boys storm to the title they should have won under Burley those years ago.

Finished 2-1 to Monaco on the night and 4-3 to Valencia on aggregate. Monaco didn't deserve shit really. Both goals were from free-kicks and probably wouldn't have been scored against proper defences. Valencia deserve to go through on the whole I'd say.
I reckon Monaco will do quite well in the EL tbh. All those young players will have a good time I think. I certainly think they'll have a better campaign than the other French sides.

And Celtic should just give up. Just win the league and don't bother with Europe.
