You're both right, went to both games, drew 0-0 with about 2k there on Tv, but also been when its been full and on Tv, think it was around Xmas 2010? Lost 1-0 Pilkington scored if memory serves me right. Sure Walkley can confirm both matches.

I remember the away end being half full about 3 years ago on tv are you getting mixed up with somewhere else?
Lost 1-0 on Sky, full away end, Jan 2011. Was only half full in November 2014 though, only time we've had sub 3.5k there.

We may do, did it to Brighton in the play offs and a couple in the league.

Will you fuck you did it to Brighton because that was the only game you filled the ground and 2k was enough for them anyway. You obviously aren't gonna fill the ground against huddersfield so they'll get 4.5k just as villa and leeds did however they won't sell anywhere near that many anyway unless there still top

We can restrict it, we passed the SYP/SAG test that said the game is in mid January so neither wide will sell that well.

We've only been allocated 1,953 for Huddesrfield on 22 October. £30 a pop too.

Last couple of years we've took best part of 4k there.

Still, if they feel they can sell the difference to their own fans, can't say I blame them.

Huddersfield charging us £30 but their own only £10. Hope we reciprocate allocation and pricing.

I do too, £30 would be a discount on what you usually charge!

You'll all find it odd, but we've been reducing the away allocation just because it's by far the most atmospheric stand in the stadium and our supporters group has been a massive success in there and seen massive growth over the last year. Every club has commented on our home atmosphere so far this year, granted the fact we've won all 5 games has helped, but the difference from previous seasons is big.
Due to ridiculous segregation I think our capacity is only about 21/22k anyway. So the Wednesday game should sell out, despite being Sunday 12PM on Sky.

Wouldn't be surprised if they sold out, there numbers fluctuate greatly at Hillsborough, if they're near the top still I don't think it will be far from full. Their numbers elsewhere so far this season suggests a big following to us, if we give them the tickets. (Which I would expect us to, as there's no way will sell out the rest of the ground, so we wouldn't need the bottom of the Lep.)

Don't shout at me as I know it's not away support but I've been dead impressed with our home support this season already considering it's been in a bit of a lull over the last 18 months or so.

You've had a crowd below 50k, that's sh1te!! :-)
Seriously fantastic support from you lot both home and away. The jump from pre-Keegan to now is amazing, although I have always rated your support as among the very best, loudest most passionate fans. (Except for last year in cup at your place.)

I do contest stadium size there as we do have a tier of the Trinity Road closed, reducing us to about 39k, but yeah.

Newcastle have always been well supported at home for the most part. I think they are something like 5th on the all time average attendance. they do have a few things in their favour but to get the crowds they do for a club who have been doing poor Over the last few years is impressive.

I wish we had been as "poor" as Newcastle over the last few years. It may be poor for their expectations but there are many big clubs down here, who have endured third tier football in the last 10 years. Think all these clubs averaged over 20k whilst in league 1, (some of them whilst struggling) that to me is good support whilst being "poor". Not being relegated from PL and then being everyone's favourites to go back up in 1st place. Don't get me wrong, I can't knock their (or your) support, but neither of you really know what it is like to be poor. Think you may find it tough to get promotion this year, but don't expect to see you down here for 10 years + and find out what being poor really means. Blades and Pompey are prime examples at the moment.

Don't think its 100% accurate on ours
Thought leeds was our first sub 20k crowd this season, and that was 19k

Derby was 19,451 and Wigan was 17,635 but your average is 20,079 not 20,174

Unless we have a good season it will go down.. already played Newcastle and villa at home this season. Those were always going to be the most well populated games.

I see your point but poor is poor at the end of the day and Newcastle and us in particular have been shocking over the last few years. Newcastle would average over 40k in the third tier imo. Can't knock the support you, Leeds etc get for how long you've been down there, but Newcastle would piss all over it. History shows that both villa and Newcastle have had good support whilst being in the lower leagues. We have not won away since August 2015 and we won 2 home games last season. 96 points from 95 home games over the last few years is really poor.

Our away support has been really good so far this year, but I do think we'll see a massive drop off next year when the novelty disappears as we start another season in the Championship. Anyways got to go as off to another ground I haven't been to for a long time. Deepdale here we come.

Not questioning either set of fans support or loyalty (both great, that's beyond doubt, although once the novelty wears off and a few seasons down here would see both your numbers drop, but yes Newcastle would piss all over everybody else, at home at least) just putting the "poor" bit in relative terms. I suppose clubs like Grimsby and Luton would say we haven't it bad either, it's all relative to each club.

Wigan sold out on the opening day, 17.5k. Shame about our reduced capacity as the first three all sold out.

Fair enough. Had forgot about derby, and forgot it was still reduced capacity vs Wigan.
