Leeds away on a Tuesday night next for us. £35 a ticket (£40 POTG). Nice one Massimo!

Cheaper than last season I think!

Sheff Weds are bastards too and I think Huddersfield are milking away fans this season as well.

Tight Yorkshire twats.

A trip to the most beautiful and cultured part of the world doesn't come cheap.

I suppose it will even itself out once we've been to Barnsley.

THE most beautiful and indeed cultured part. We shall be having a coupon day so that the disadvantaged residents of Lancashire can experience it at discount prices.

Rotherham was one of the best aways I've done in years to be honest. Really hospitable, 5 minute walk from the town and they even served beer in the queue outside the turnstiles. Magic.

I've done Rotherham before with Walsall (best mate supports 'em and it's a great piss up), lovely away day imo, we spent the morning and evening in Sheffield before heading back to Derby (he was at uni there) to round up the night. Not the best I've done (that honour goes to Brentford, again with Walsall), but still a good one.

Superb for a tuesday night that. Not sure if they can give the extra on the side these days as they used too.

great support, but no surprise really. If you had not of sold out I'd of said it was poor, which sounds crazy, but it's the truth.

We've sold 2100 so far for Newcastle on the 22nd. Considering we've scored 4 in 11, something tells me most are more interested in going to St James Park!

I believe we're in the process of allocating a few more in the west stand. I know it's not a regular fixture but Newcastle always bring a huge following. Midweek league cup fixture back around 2002ish they filled it too.

EDIT: Just checked. Wednesday October 10th 2001. Around 4k.

I reckon you're joking but still I'd be doing myself an injustice if I didn't point out it's about 20 miles further than Birmingham.
I'm half joking. Yes brum is not much further, but it is one of their closer games.

Thing with Newcastle and Sunderland is that they would at times take 10,15 even 20k to some away games in days gone by. Not many teams returned the favour up there though. Something about north east folk, they seem to like travelling whether it be for footy, work or whatever. The scots are similar too.

The most local game to us this season is Leeds at 100 miles. Albeit not too much further, a 200+ mile round trip to Barnsley on a Tuesday night isn't to be sniffed at.

Also, this will be our 7th away sell out in a row which is positive too.

Leeds will give you a nice welcome. You will sell out every away game as I expect your form to remain strong.

In the 80s I remember Newcastle bringing 14k to us, was probably great to get out of the north east in them days, that's probably also why scousers travel well, nowt to do with the football, they just want to get out of that place :-)

My grandad remembers Newcastle coming in a mini bus in the 80s, but we've had some very small followings up there too.Sunderland were usually the better travellers out of the two to our place. Don't know what your on about regarding the city of culture which is Liverpool. Bloody lovely place :animatedf:

Would you want to stay in the North-East/Scotland if you lived there?

Glasgow and Middlesbrough are lovely. It's worth living in Scotland for scotch pies, square sausage and single malt whiskey. Would need a nice thick coat, although rab c Nesbit seemed to do alright without one.

Great effort from the Toon. Even though I can't grasp how so many Geordies are so eager to leave work early and trek 100 miles down the country to watch a football match.

Half of me wants us to allocate half of the west stand as an extra 2,000 away fans at £30-32 a pop is a decent money spinner, the other half hopes that demand is sufficient enough to fill it with our own fans (unlikely though).

We've sold 2500 for Newcastle in a couple of weeks, quite surprised at that.

Nah, it's fucking not. I'm up in whiskey country but it still does't take away the fact that it's an 8 hour drive back home to Chesterfield. I like Scotland but it's just too far from anywhere, there's no wonder they travel well.
