Did three clubs in the second tier of English football manage sub 200 away fans? However you dress that up its fucking awful.

Not to bothered about it for us. Playing Middlesbrough away on the Saturday, we were never going to take a lot to Burnley. I'm just happy it didn't drop below 100. That will be our lowest following this season and I would call it respectable.

I don't see how it can be atrocious. That's a lot of miles and money in a short amount of time.

Massive amounts of people? There'd be more at the Chelsea game than the other two combined and less in total than a game at Old Trafford.

I agree it is a bit odd - one of the main problems we would ever have trying to ground share with any of those teams.

The main difference between those is that you could concentrate all of your resources at Old Trafford, whereas in London you'd have to split them up amongst 3 or 4 different stadia (we're also very close to them all). You'd also have potentially 6 or 8 different sets of football fans all trying to get to different places by tube, which would be a nightmare. At least with Old Trafford everyone is presumably travelling outwards from the stadium, in London everyone just gets in each other's way.

We were always gonna have a poor following being a night match, were stuck at the bottom of the table without a win and it's the longest journey we'll make all season.

It's a lot of miles but compare it to
Hull - Brighton/Cardiff.
Rotherham - Charlton/Brighton
Huddersfield - Hull/Charlton
Bristol City - Brum/PNE

All lengthy trips but better numbers, all similar home gates....

We took one more on Tuesday than Rotherham did.

Also, they are all bigger clubs than us...

Cos Chelsea and QPR are both at home tonight. Stupid reason really.

The logic of this is truly brilliant.
Why couldn't Fulham Wolves have been played last night when all the other Championship games - bar QPR - were playing?

Astounding.

Brighton is 50 miles further from Rotherham than Burnley is from Milton Keynes.

Overall they took 666 to your 529 for their two games, mileage wise theirs were longer trips, they are bottom of the league and not visiting new grounds.

No excuse.

Those sub-200 gates aren't anything new. Barnsley, Yeovil, Millwall and Wigan all took less than 200 away to midweek games in recent seasons. I think Brighton and Bournemouth have been there or thereabouts too.

Doesn't make it good, fair play to all that made the trips....

The holocaust was pretty shocking, I don't think i'd say the same about the amount of people who attend a football match

Some ridiculously long trips on a week night this week and in general this season!

A few of our Tuesday night away games this season include Leeds (last night), Hull and Bolton but the reverse fixtures are also Tuesday nights so that balances it out slightly.

To be fair, that would be 3 teams playing within a 6 mile radius. Massive amounts of people traveling at the same time, so roads and trains would be busier than normal. I am surprised that it is QPR and Chelsea that are playing the same night though, as we have trouble with them but not Fulham.
Can they really not cope with that? Didn't Birmingham, Villa, West Brom, Wolves and Walsall all play at home on the same night recently?

Okay fair point, I give up trying to see the logic. The Met are pussies.
