It's the same with Birmingham, the stand we were in holds 5k yet they refused to sell us more than 2,600. Can you think of any logical explanation?
It went all the way to general sale though and it took till the Wednesday before the match before you had sold out… leaving only two working days to shift a second allocation.

Like our fans have said before on here, it was stated on our website the day that they came out for ST holders 2 weeks ago that there would be no further allocation.

Even so, that's a very poor excuse that you come up with. Further allocations have came out later than two days before at other grounds, or you could have even stuck on POTD?

...and therein lies the answer.

I think the key issue is many clubs in this league don't offer sale or return on tickets to away clubs. Therefore you have to know you'll shift them rather than take the risk.

I think the reason for no SOR is that the home club has to plan stewarding and staff in line with what they know rather than guess. They will also have to notify the local police and even BTP in advance and so I don't think there's much flexibility in terms of "oh, do you mind if we sell another 1,000". Especially two or three days before the game.

We've had the same discussions regarding the Leeds game next weekend. Many of our fans assumed there was a 5K cap. Leeds sold those immediately, asked for more tickets and got them after a bit of a delay. I would assume that delay has been because everything has had to be discussed with TVP and then our own staffing levels addressed.

Unless there's any specific history of trouble between the two sets of fans, I doubt any police force is capping numbers. I think they just need plenty of advance warning on numbers travelling and that's not always possible.

We haven't got a history of trouble with the Blues ( a few incidents over the years but nothing too bad). The West Midlands gestapo is a totally different matter, going back to the 80's. We always get shit from them when we play in their area. Horrible bastards!
Chatting to a few mates who were there yesterday, it sounds like the WMG were looking for a reaction so they could start wading into our supporters. I'm impressed that our fans didn't react under the police provocation to be honest. Well done fellow reds!

I wasn’t really disputing that you could had took a couple of hundred more. There was never going to be a POTD option, there never is with clubs we have had prior history with. Not really sure why you are so upset about it but hey-ho.

I'm not upset about it, just bewildered as to why extra tickets weren't put on offer. Makes no sense to me.

Yeah, which makes no sense to me. There was no reason or demand to sell them in there - half the ground was fucking empty yesterday.

Well obviously thats why you werent given more tickets as you only sold out 2 days before the game. If your club thought you would of sold more you probably would of asked for more from the start and got them. It was a good following anyway

It was alright, would have been woeful if we wouldn't have sold out. It's one of our closest away games this season!

It was our clubs fault, they didn't even go on general sale until Monday

You're nothing special. They can't sell half their ground for anyone.

1,845 at Bolton?

That's only half of what we took there last season, and the season before that. Top effort though from Wolves. Kudos.

This is a weird argument. We have bigger home support and we have bigger away support. Of course, there's occasional games where you take more. :ffs:
We had bigger home support than you when we were in League 1.

Edit: Although it's worth keeping going if it's so important for you that you have to rush off and consult not one but two programmes from previous seasons.

The most predictable response you've ever given. Tedious beyond belief. Have a look in your 'El Guapo' folder and pick out another picture you've saved off Google Images, desperately asserting to yourself that it's me. That will surely put me in my place.

:fl: The El Guano wit strikes again! Did those nasty Bristol City fans start singing "Where were you when you were good?" at you again? Good thing the match goals are on YouTube so that most of your support can get to see them. But try not to get to worked up about all this, because your responses are becoming a bit Meh to be honest. We expect better of you.

Cue zzzzz or 'not reading' response: incredibly funny but a bit passé now.

The ever predictable, yet hilarious retort of 'El Guano'. Literally frothing at the mouth over me that you inadvertently out yourself to having a fetish for excrement. Do you have a separate folder for that as well? You seem to reference it a lot.

Your last game of the season for the past two years has been away to Bolton, it is to be expected. For what it's worth we've sold out for our last game of the season for as long as I've been alive. We took over 5000 to Wigan a few months ago as our final away day, nothing to really shout about.

Obviously, it was said tongue-in-cheek.

FWIW out of the two clubs Wolves have always brought better followings to Hillsborough than Birmingham regardless.

Think there will only be about 100 Brentford fans up at Middlesborough tonight! Fair play to any going to it, a pig of a journey to do on a Tuesday night.

556 Blackburn at Fulham & 1,376 Forest at QPR according to their official sites. Can't see a Huddersfield figure.

Apparently Bristol City had only sold 170 for tonight's game, yesterday. No idea how reliable that is though.

Can't really knock it, it's a trek on a Tuesday night and a good number made the trip here last season.
