Why so small, villa had nearly 4k
All we've been sent so far, I assume we'll get more as we've had 3,300 and 3,500 there the last two seasons and there's been no trouble. We should top 3k again if we can.

Confirmed its £42 for us at hillsborough. £42,£45,£49 in the home stands, it's actually more to watch a 2nd division game of football than it is to watch champions league games. Wednesday's owner aught to be fucking ashamed of himself.

Despite ridiculous prices its going to be a sell out, North Stand sold out and only a few hundred left on Kop, tickets are only on sale to Season ticket holders wanting to buy one additional ticket and Members.
Possibly unlikely to make next weeks general sale.

Yes I expect it to sell out this week. You only have to sell about an extra 4k tickets than you normally do for every other home game with the amount of seats that are blocked off.

Yep, overkill from SYP and SAG again.
Genuine question, do you think you would sell out the Derby match at Bramall Lane if you were paying the same prices as we are?
I ask cus alot of your fans are moaning about the prices at Hillsborough (fwiw I agree with em, though you will still sell out easily)
Is it because they don't want to give us (or anyone else) that amount of money, but would be prepared to pay it into their own club (still not happy with it, but prepared to pay) or would they not pay it at Bramall Lane either?

I'd say not but I would of never expected you to get as good crowds as you do with the prices you've charged over the last couple of years. So on that basis I suppose we would if in the same situation as you regarding spending etc. It's not as if Wednesday fans have more money than united fans so maybe people in sheff are a bit more willing to part with our cash than I thought.

i'll be honest and say I'm amazed at the crowds a working class club like Sheffield Wednesday get at the prices they pay. There must be a lot of genuine belief because their crowds have never been much to shout about since getting relegated from the prem. it's not as if they have the nationwide fanbase like Leeds do either. Always had a soft spot for both Sheffield clubs, especially Wednesday.

Last year they had 3 Year season tickets for £1205 which includes if they get promoted, absolute bargain.

And if they don't get promoted it's still £400 a year to sit on the kop, hardly a bargain. Both your prices are disgusting for season tickets and even more so match day tickets. Obviously not the fans fault.

I would say the majority of clubs pay £400 for season tickets in this league and not many will have spent as much as them.

There cheapest renewal price was £455,£555 and £655 on the 3 stands,Granted if you bought a 3 year one you save about 50 a season on it. Other than yourselves I doubt anyone else charges that much. Also as you say most teams don't or haven't spent as much either. Our cheapest renewal was £288 on the kop and £394 I think it was on the side stands even for a new fan it was only £430 on the sides but I suppose we haven't spent fuck all and don't expect promotion.

We do as well. £520 for a season ticket in the new main stand, and mafchday prices up to £38.

Most we ever charge away fans is £32, we only have two categories so that's fairly regularly.

Was that a renewal price? Still £30 cheaper than Wednesday's 2nd cheapest and £130 cheaper than there dearest. There will be the odd couple on a par with there cheapest, QPR, Ipswich maybe can't see many more being. What was you're cheapest?

Just checked yours were ranging from £347 - £471 with the £530 you mention just being the 2 central blocks on the new stand. So pretty acceptable and sensible pricing, not even close to there rip offs.

Yeah that's a renewal price. Didn't know it was only the two central blocks of the west stand, but it's also the two central blocks of the Dolman which is the other side stand.

Agree, both in Sheffield and Leeds the prices are stupid yet still people pay it, neither particular affluent cities.
More so at Wednesday as we have 2 clubs to choose from so really only the half the population of Leeds but almost the same number through the doors.
Shows the difference between interest in football in Sheffield and Leeds.
Also shows Yorkshire folk aren't as tight as the media (and us) make us out to be.

20k season ticket holders this year at Leeds after the latest stats. 40% increase from last year - impressive what the owner has done so far in buying back the ground and getting some of the enthusiasm back.

To be honest, if the club get things right on the pitch and are making the right noises off it most clubs would see an increase.
But if they get it right at clubs like Leeds and Villa the sky's the limit really.

Ours range from £370-£595 with odd sections here and there mainly on the wings goi g for £322. most expensive match day ticket is £37 and the cheapest is £20 depending on who we are playing. Overall not too bad for a club our size, but there is no way our fans would pay stupid amounts whilst struggling in the championship. Birmingham and the West Midlands in general is a working class area, so some of our strongholds are not exactly rolling in money, although we do have large numbers in more affluent areas. Birmingham is very similar to Leeds in that it's not a massive footballing city like Sheffield or some other places.

Wednesday don't have many single match day tickets sold and it's no wonder at those prices.

And thats with a good season, so their prices definitely effect people from going. We had around 9k ourselves. Leeds had about 12k with expensive tickets, but they had their best season in years and they have a huge fanbase.

sold 3k for Barnsley so far for a week on Saturday. Couple of good results beforehand should see it over 4K. Thought they had cut the allocation to 4600 but our ticket office saying we've been allocated 5600. Either way we won't need that.

Think that's about right, yours will go down drastically this season with about 5 or 6k extra season ticket holders.
In reply to Villa loyal, Sheffield is still very much a working class area, with very few of the prawn sandwich brigade at either ground.
Little uptake of corporate boxes at Hillsborough not sure about Lane but doubt there is there either.
Bet Barnsley don't allocate 5.6k to either Sheffield club or Leeds, although all 3 would sell em.

years of being outside the prem has damaged the corporate side to your matchday. over 50k fans attend football games in Sheffield and for two lower league teams that's superb.

3,000 gone for Reading. 100 left of the further allocation then it'll just be POTD.

3,550 my guess.
