I wish, I had, we played 4 times in my lifetime down there but I was only 10 on the last occasion, a 4-4 draw in the FA Cup.

Funnily enough, I was watching the highlights the other day on YouTube of that 4.4 draw.

“Not a ground I really like” is an opinion, not a point. The rake is steep enough that you get a great view even in the top tier. The only thing you have a point on is being kept back for a bit, and that said you strike as the type who’d complain about being let out the same time as the home fans were it to happen.

I think it’s an excuse to prevent more overrcrowding at South Bermondsey station honestly.

No I wouldn't, after a game particularly when we lose it's just nice to get on the train home, not just sit in a ground bored for half an hour. It was dull, there wouldn't have been any trouble anyway. May be this year with more fans heading there. I don't care about a "great view" as long as I can see the pitch, Brentford view is fucking horrendous but it's probably my favourite away end in the division.

I've been once, new year's day with my old man and his mates who were hungover as was just about everyone else in the stand barring 13 year old me, we lost 2-1 to a late winner there was about 600 of us there and we got kept back. Was daft.

Went to the Old Den a couple of times with Villa in the late 80s, early 90s. Never saw any trouble worse than anywhere else in them days but it did have something about it. Not sure if it was the reputation that made everyone so jumpy but I was always on edge when I went down there.

Been twice, the 4 all in the cup and I think it was the same season, we arrived late, Hirst scoring twice to put us two nil up by the time we got to ground.
We did still get to see 4 goals though, unfortunately for me they were all scored by Millwall.
Pretty certain it was our first defeat of the season and that wouldn't have happened if Roland Nillson hadn't got injured and carried off.

Main thing I remember about that day though was I was supposed to be going on the train with loads of other Wednesday fans and staying in London for the weekend, can't recall why but I ended up going on coach and coming straight back.
Was fortunate for me, as that Saturday night the group who I were supposed to going with got seriously attacked (with machetes and baseball bats amongst other things) in a pub in Kentish Town resulting in at least person seriously injured and a couple of my mates having bats wrapped round their heads.
Strange thing was, this was back in the times when Millwall really was a place to be feared, but they encountered no trouble at the match and the bother later wasn't anything to do with Millwall (or football related).

Remember both those games, 90/91 season - lost the replay at Hillsborough IIRC. Good games though!

Both cracking games, especially the cup one, we did win the reply, only to get battered 4 nil by Cambrididge, with a young Dion Dublin playing and scoring if I recall correctly.
Didn't matter we still went onto great things that season, best ever whilst supporting the Owls, hard to believe over 26 years since.

We had more than 600 there this season AND have more banning orders AND have previous with Millwall due to the 15/16 play off final. We did not get kept back

Strange one. Clearly the met aren't fond of us, see our QPR allocation today. We seem to have as much trouble with police authorities (mainly the WMP) as we do with opposing fans nowadays, still makes things interesting on aways though I suppose. It'd be well boring supporting Fulham.

I went down there in the cup a few seasons ago on a Friday night. We had around 1700 down there. A pub with some villa lads in it got attacked and also some villa lads tried taking the piss walking past the home stands giving it the big un and got done over.
My grandad and uncle remember going down there in the late 80s, and villa took a big mob down. They encountered absolutely nothing. Millwall were playing a big game the following weekend, so all there lads were keeping there heads down for that apparently. They probably didn't expect villa to bring a firm down being another reason.
