We have the same issue for this and Reading mate
Yeah, it's a right ballache for trips to Reading, Birmingham, Bristol etc. Any that relies on Cross-country trains.
At least you've still got direct trains to London, even if they go via Nottingham so take a bit longer

Bolton to Manchester was a bus replacement on Saturday, had to sneak drinks on and it took an age so we got a taxi on the way back, it's well annoying.

Forest not even broken 2k for their trip to the DW this weekend. I’m assuming trains are disrupted that weekend because that’s a poor effort for a big club expecting to be up the table this season. Only £25 a ticket as well.

Speaking of disrupted trains, Euston shut next weekend and tickets £28-£33 for QPR. I’ll be shocked if we take anymore than 500.

Forest are big in tradition rather than being big in a support reach sense.

Nah, their fan base is as big as any at this level. Maybe bar Leeds. They just don’t go. Or didn’t until the money turned up this season.

Leeds
Villa
Wednesday/Forest

They were a nothing club up until the mid to late 70s, then had that great spell. I like forest a lot. Good club.

I'd rank Forest as upper end of average tbh. Definitely not big. They're situated in an advantageous location with good links to the rest of the country - something that is so underplayed in this thread - for what they've achieved as a club and the scope of their support across Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire they should be traveling in much bigger numbers than they do to be considered a big/good imo.

Would never rank forest top 10 in size, or fanbase, not even with those two European cups. Big ish support with a good history. The mid 70s up until the mid 90s was a great time to be a forest fan. Bit surprised only 2k are going to Wigan mind.

No chance. More Leeds fans spread over the country, and they have a big city to themselves.

Give over. Villa bigger than Leeds in just about everything bar away followings maybe.

We are the bigger club, imo. We were also the biggest club in the league when Newcastle were down here with us. I'm on about support though. Their away support is a league above us, and they also edge us on overall support nationwide. Always thought we have better home support though.

Situated well? We share our city with a club who are probably similar in size to Swansea, Derby one way, Leicester the other way, south Yorkshire and then West Midlands also up the road. Within the radius we have about 10 decent sized clubs you lot have Cardiff and not a lot else. If anyone should be banking on location it’s a club who’s had a few years in the Prem and half of Wales who should be getting behind them

Anyway, think we do ok for a club who’s not had top tier football for almost 20 years. Always have one of the better Home and away attendances regardless, though like most clubs it fluctuates with success / expectation

Situated well geographically, like most of us in the vicinity.

Erm I was referring to your location and ease to get to other clubs. Our nearest fixture is a 162 mile round trip. You're close to lots of clubs - this needs to be taken into consideration. Someone like Boro taking 2,000 to Reading would be better than Bristol taking 2,000 to Reading as an example.

And Notts are nowhere near us don't be ridiculous.

Stoke sold 3k for Saturday and seem very impressed with themselves. It’s about an hour away and they do free coach travel, was expecting them to sell out but I forgot they’re actually a small club.

Yeah seems strange to me but to be fair I follow a club where I'm rarely gonna struggle for a ticket if I want one.

Is 3k, with another days sale to go, for a fixture live on Sky really that of a small club?

A few in here considered their 2,700 at Leeds a top effort. It obviously wasn't but I'd say over 3,000 is okay by anyone's standards tbh.

Can’t they track who activated their tickets at the Sunderland electronic turnstiles and only award them the points?

you'd think so but more trouble than it is worth I bet.

I'll probably kick myself if I miss out on ticket for Bramall Lane by ten points mind.

They can't really do that without refunding each person the ticket price. Something we really can't afford to do in our current financial situation.
