Liverpool v United, is not a derby, it’s a rivalry .

Sheffield and Bristol derbies both top 3 and 5 of your list.

No question.

We haven’t been in the same league as Rovers for nearly 20 years but hatred never leaves either club. Because we don’t play eachother often at all, it makes it worse when we do.

I’ve seen City fans running on the pitch chasing Ian Holloway down the tunnel. Horses running on the pitch again in 2013! Stupid amount of arrests before and after.

It’s carnage but I wouldn’t change it for the world. I’ve wondered what it would be like to have Rovers in the Championship, with a half decent stadium. Would make it interesting for sure!

Sheffield yes, but Bristol is a No, only joking, for me Derby and Forest is the big one because, it's our Derby, like for Burnley fans it's Blackburn, Blackpool it's Preston, etc ,so to the fans who are involved, that is the biggest one. It's all about the local bragging rights at work, Can not wait to smash the red dogs.

Same when we played blues for the first time in the premier league. Both games were midweek, which added even more edge.

Bristol? Seriously? Top 5? Seriously?
Probably not in terms of size as neither club are a particularly big club but for me the only rivalries that are as fierce are Wednesday United, Millwall West Ham and Villa Blues. Possibly Southampton and Pompey as well actually.

Not a dig this but when you see your games with Norwich and there isn’t segregation, if that happened in any of the ones I mentioned it’d be a free for all.

To be frankly honest, the fact that two clubs can despise each other as much as us and Norwich do without resorting to violence shouldn’t be disregarded.

You’re basically ranking derbies on the amount of arrests

You're 50 fucking miles apart, it's hardly a derby..... your real Derby is Colchester

I’m not going into the debate about us and Norwich again but my point still stands, a Derby can still be a Derby even if masses of police aren’t required.

All I said was how can Bristol be in the top 5...

No I’m not. I think it should be disregarded, the pinnacle of football for me is playing Rovers, if there wasn’t an edge and it wasn’t a fiery fixture then what else is there to look forward to? Cup games against big sides in which we’ve had about two in my life time, both last season? Fighting to get into the Premier League and winning 6 games a season, getting spanked most weeks?

Jesus, my team is this , my team is that, already said all Derby's are big for those who support there club, Derby and Forest games always have big talking points, passion, hatred, and the need to win, no one Derby is bigger than the other...

Of course nobody understands this as you’re all bloody miles from either of us, but you could justifiably stick Norwich where Rovers are in your paragraph...
I honestly feel sick at the thought of another loss to them,

You’re about 50 miles apart, it’s not the same. We have a rivalry with Cardiff as well, them vs us is one that’s always been lively, certainly a lot more so than Norwich Ipswich, but it’s nothing compared to an inner city rivalry in my opinion.

Not doubting you despise them, but if we’re ranking rivalries in the UK then yours is one of the more tame ones I think.

I agree, but that was over 40 years ago, I am talking about now, we was the best team in England, in the early 70s, we took 10000 fans away to Sheffield United in 1986 season, the Derby and Forest games have everything, great atmosphere, hatred, sending offs, players kicking off, managers, people of Derby and Notts, look forward to this fixture every season, and that's what a Derby is all about, just like the Sheffield Derby, Burnley, Blackburn and so on. They all mean everything to the fans, that's what I love about football. Already counting down the days when Forest come to Pride park on the 15th of December, win it and that makes my year lose it and I am like a bear with a sore head.

Yes but the next day when you go to work you have liked minded people with you, generally you're all happy or all pissed off, but you all feel the same.
That's where single City Derbies differ, if you lose you will have them giving it you for weeks sometimes even months after, if we win I say nothing just walk around smugly seems to piss em off even more.
But it lasts much longer than just the matchday.

As it does Derby and Notts we have a lot of towns like Ilkeston, long Eaton, were you have Derby and Notts fans living together, the rivalry is and has been for years fierce, you have to be from the East Midlands to understand it. Most of you Sheffield lads are all best friends anyway.

I'd rather not be from the East Midlands 'mi duck'

You’re only a few miles off being in the Midlands .
And the subtle differences are staggering.

Mate, we are Yorkshire, we are the birth place of Football, the founders of Yorkshire cricket club....

Not Dorbeh.

Being from Derbyshire that would be pretty hard to achieve tbh.

Sheff Club is pretty much town so we'll have that as well.
