It's been the rules since 1994. The whole reason we moved into the Madejski was to avoid the automatic permanent relegation out of this division that not moving out of Elm Park would have caused.

I disagree. Not having a pop but I don't think you would sell 5800 tickets for our place on opening day, final day or boxing day. Same goes for us at your place.

You seem a reasonable poster and I have a lot of time for Tarn but I'll have to disagree with you there, too.

I'm not saying it definitely would happen, but both clubs on the up nowadays it isn't an unreal suggestion depending on when it falls. Realistically we'll take 3k - 4k there and you'll sell out the 2.6k here.

I always think it depends how long the tickets are on sale. MK Dons are brilliant at making away tickets available about eight weeks ahead of the game, meaning they get some huge crowds down there.... in the away end at least.

I'm just hoping we make Bristol City category G, make amends for last season and hope they bring the 4k they expect.

As for Rotherham at Barnsley, I'm of the opinion they'll sell 3k minimum but a lot depends on form by their own admission.

That said we've not sold out at Barnsley for ages due to being absolutely bored of the away day. That's not a dig I'm sure Craig feels the same about ours.

We moved from Elm Park to the Mad Stad mainly due to how much it would have cost to have made Elm Park an all seater stadium as well as how low the capacity would have been if it had been made into an all seater. Had we won the playoff final in 1995 the rumour was we would have groundshared with someone like QPR.

Exactly, due to the rules requiring stadia to be seated.

I wonder how long we would have stayed at Elm Park without those new rules. Would we still be there now?

We probably wouldn't have been as successful, but would be far more interesting matchday experience.

I've still not recovered from Maguire's 97th minute winner a couple of years ago.

I wish we were still there. Drinks in town and then a shortish walk to Elm Park over an out of town stadium. Although another pub has opened on the Basingstoke Road so at least there are now 2 pubs within a shortish walk to the Mad Stad.

Burton away, as its the only new ground for me. Followed by Barnsley away, always enjoy Oakwell and think we will sellout for first time in some seasons.
At home the obvious ones Geordies, Villa,Barnsley, Leeds and Rotherham as we must finally beat our mini pig friends at Hillsborough. Expecting a significant increase in home crowds, hopefully leading to a better atmosphere for most games.

I am still adamant to this day that we should have stayed. Nothing like a rammed Spread Eagle on a Saturday.

Can't wait for next season. Missed out on Newcastle last time they were down here, missed out on Norwich due to never going to away games before about 2012 and obviously looking forward to Villa. Then there's Fulham and Rotherham, new away days for me (though probably not for most our fans), Burton again, Forest (about 15 mins walk) and our loving neighbours Wednesday and Leeds. Loved travelling to some great litttle grounds in League One (as well as some shit ones) but it's good to be back.

Went in the Spread Eagle with my old man a few times before home games although he supports West Ham. It's still there as well. Went past it a few weeks ago.

Not a chance, unless it's the opening day or a big game again (like in 2003, when we had 4,500 at yours). I'm a firm believer that we should've charged you what you charged us on the opening day. It was a disgrace, but it seems Chansiri has learnt given some of the prices at the end of the season; notably the POs.

You mean 2004 when you brought 4686 on the back off 11 straight wins then Spike burst your bubble. Was interesting off the pitch that day.

Difference between us and you lot is we will travel regardless.

Yes, I do.

I don't know why you're comparing us to you, as if you want me to wank off Wednesday like SERNWA would. I know you're a fairly big club, I know your away support is decent, you don't need to put it into context for me by comparing it with my club.

I haven't said anything of the sort, you're just leaping there J, I'm making the point that you don't travel well and use every excuse under the sun.

Who's saying we do? Taking 4,000 up north isn't the norm for any club in this league, same with any northern club in this league; barring possibly Leeds.

I don't think anyone claims our away support is superb. It's alright, we take some very decent numbers to places two or three times a season - it's not on the same scale as your lot or Leeds!

The only reason the 4K figure was being said is because it was first game back and we had just done a double. Personally think even that would have been a bit of an overestimate, but certainly wasn't that unreasonable if pricing hadn't been stupid

Grew up in there really, was 14 when the landlord started letting me off. Some fantastic memories, a great boozer. Haven't been back in there for knocking on 5 years now, not many faces I know drink in there anymore. Still, I'll live with the nostalgia.

Brighton away first game would be perfect, make a weekend of it.

Hope we have a decent London away game early on in the season too, shame we have lost Charlton since that was my favourite.

No doubt all our games vs Villa and Birmingham will be moved to a Sunday which is crap, but can't do much about it.

We have also played away at Blackburn as the first game of the season 4 times in the last 12 years, can't be arsed with that again.

You'd hope not but you know what the Police are like.

Anything tonight? Plenty of incidents being reported from inside and outside of the stadium.
