I must admit, I watched this pretty much to witness a train wreck. I was disappointed.

That is fucking genius! for me it is up there with their original African nations coverage when they literally just seemed to find the first 3 black football pundits within sight upon realising they had won the rights

"Oh hey look, it's Robbie Earle, Ruel Fox and Marcus Gayle, you lads surely know about African football?"

Good to see he's still giving Russell Slade some punditry work.
To be fair, looks like a much more accurate representation of Adrian Chiles.

Much more watchable now.

Slightly less cheese, highlights in order, they've got rid of the stupid table board things.

I actually quite like the fact they have a player who has played that day but wish they wouldn't introduce them like its Soccer AM and I still think they should do away with the live audience.

It was better this week, thank god they have done away with the revolving tables. All that needed was a rogue runner on the show to amend a team at the last minute before the great unveil (probably us :bg:) for a horrific blooper.

Agree with Bobbin, lose the audience, lose Adam Virgo and probably the male presenter. Work to be done, but glad to see the switching of leagues has stopped too.

It's watchable now but it's still shit, quite a few little problems

The iPads, seriously, just why? Why? Why? Why are they there? Why? Why do they use them? WHY?
The constant walking around and the 'over to you George' just stand still, stop fannying around and keep it simple
Adam Virgo
Kelly Cates' voice

Virgo is a man baby. An awkward wooden dummy who is definitely as thick as he looks, and someone who looks moments away from a tearful breakdown any time the camera is on him.

Much, much worse than this is the smug, shit eating grin that is permanently across the face of George Riley. It's like he knows it's fucking shite and is actively taunting us.

I think that's one of the best descriptions of Adam Virgo I've ever seen, but I disagree with George Riley. He was excellent on 5 Live before, I think he'll turn out to be a popular presenter.

Apparently with no Championship games this weekend, it's a surprise that viewing figures were significantly lower. Why else did they think the BBC ignored the lower leagues during international breaks?

Strange criticism. That's one thing it's actually got going for it, pretty even coverage of all the leagues rather than the Championship show that was the BBCs effort.

It's not a criticism. It's pointing out that it doesn't take a genius to figure out that viewing figures would fall dramatically.

Well fuck you all...I hope for one that Adam Virgo and Clinton Morrison get their own show for legendary Saturday night banter.

Well somebody's gotten used to the sweet life that is the Championship :bg:

The Football League shows on BBC/5 are going to have lower viewing figures than MOTD, but its nice to have the highlights somewhere. Frustrated me to lose highlights when an international break was on, I appreciate having them on 5. To be honest, I wouldn't even care if it was just a short 30/45 min show with the goals on, with no studio set-up.

EDIT: Just read your reply to ciderhead Rammy, I get you. Where were they surprised about the viewing figures? I can't imagine they're that significant anyway are they?

A sponsored advertisement has popped up on my Facebook begging for studio audience members.

I like the fact that they show a form guide on the caption of the beginning of each match.

(Sorry for derailing the thread by posting something positive about the show, I know this thread is for sneering and criticism.)

You get better coverage of the Bundesliga and French league on BT Sport or whatever it's called now. I wish they would just be done and cancel all the leagues below the premiership, so we can all stop wasting our time and get on with our lives.
